The house is situated in the new urbanisation of Puerto Marino which is next to the new Gran Alacant 'centro comercial' complex just off the main N332 coast road. A car would be an advantage, but there is a bus service to Alicante or Santa Pola which is the nearest port, where boat trips are available including one to the island of Tabarca. The bus also stops at the beach resorts of Los Arenales and El Altet. The immediate surrounding area is farmland/nature reserve with views of the mountains, while the famous salt flats are a few kilometres south. On top of Gran Alacant there are a number of Shops/Restaurants/Bars with a busy and interesting market on Thursdays. Benidorm, the Terra Mitica and other theme parks plus several golf courses are within an hour's drive. Elche with its leather factory outlets is 20min drive inland.

Notes to the rental rates

  • A non-refundable deposit of £50 is required at the time of booking, with the balance due 6 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. Any bookings made within 6 weeks of the start date will require payment in full at the time of booking.
    Bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but special arrangements can be made on request.
  • Airport transfers can be arranged at extra cost, with payment made directly to the driver (about 16 euros).
  • We have someone who comes in to clean and do the laundry. The cost is 50 Euros which should be left on the lounge table when you leave. If required, a grocery pack can be provided (milk, bread etc), recommended if you are arriving after 8 p.m. as the supermarkets will be closed.

  • The master bedroom on the first floor has an en-suite shower room with toilet, bidet and wash basin . The main bathroom is on the first floor with bath, toilet, bidet, wash basin and wall heater. The second shower room is on the ground floor with a toilet and wash basin. All the rooms have quality fittings including marble surrounds to the wash basins and mirrors with lights. All have shaver sockets and power points. The main bathroom has a hair dryer.

  • Both bedrooms are on the first floor and have fitted wardrobes, bedside tables, lamps and radio/clocks. A TOMY soft bed rail is available for ages 18 months to 5 years old. The sofa bed in the lounge converts easily into a double bed, while a third single bed pulls out from underneath. Both bedrooms and the lounge have separate hot/cold air-conditioning units with remote controls. All bed linen and towels are provided and changed on a weekly basis. Beach towels are not included.

Notes:

The property is suitable for the elderly or infirm, but be aware that there are stairs to the bedrooms, although these have anti-slip strips, as do the two showers and the bath. The bath also has a grab handle on the wall. It may seem that there are several similar properties being advertised in the area, however ours features a back garden and therefore windows to the rear of the property which let in a lot more light. Also there is the en-suite shower room, utility room and a rotary airer in the garden.

Welcome Pack

On the unit by the front door is an 'Information Pack' containing instructions on how to use equipment in the house, phone numbers, places of Interest and other information which may be useful to you during your stay.

In cold weather all the air-conditioning units are capable of heating. In addition there is a convector heater in the lounge, a wall mounted heater in the main bathroom and a portable fan heater. I found the original electric water heater too small to have a decent bath, so I have changed it for a 100 litre tank which is more than enough.

We use the property as our own holiday home and not just as a rental property, consequently you will find books, CD's, DVD's, Videos, equipment for the beach, plus kitchen and bathroom extras which you might not normally expect to find. You are welcome to use any of the above, we would only ask that if for example the soap runs out, then you replace it.
