Brand new townhouse facing a communal pool in a safe, car free enclosed complex. 1 Double bedroom, 2 twin rooms, in the lower living room there are two double sofa beds, in addition we have a travel cot if utilized up to ten people, and a baby can stay very comfortably. There is a WC on two of the floors one with bath and shower the other with shower and sink, In the front of the building there is a patio with table chairs & sun lounges, there is parking outside for a car in street. The property is fully air conditioned and has satellite television. The property overlooks the shared pool and landscaped gardens. There is a safe in the main bedroom and a balcony with table & chairs for morning coffee and local freshly baked croissants. The property also has Hi Fi, DVD players and all the modern facilities in the kitchen including dishwasher, iron and board etc. All linen and towels (except beach towels) are provided. We also have guide books, maps and local information & a phrase book.

The new property is located in the lovely area of Gran Alacant 20 minutes south of Alacante town and a few minutes away from beaches, shops, bars and restaurants. The town has a local market and restaurants of every nationality. The area adjacent to the urbanization is a protected natural area that includes bird watching areas and nature walks. Local towns close to you are Santa Pola (fishing village & night life) and Los Arenales (nightclub) for you to go shopping and local Markets. The Airport is only 10 minutes drive away. There are plenty of Blue Flag beaches, ideal for friends and family to soak up the sun and swim. For those of you who like the nightlife there is Santa Pola 10 Minutes and Alicante 20 minutes away also Benidorm (theme parks & clubs) 45 minutes away by car or you can catch the train in Alacante, Torrevieja is only 30 minutes away by car or bus. There is a local ferry to a small island two miles of the coast. There are also several golf courses within easy reach.

Notes: We have tried to ensure that everything you will need for an enjoyable holiday is here, as this is a private residence and we use it ourselves. Items that are in the house are for your use and we trust that they will be taken care of as they were your own. In the kitchen there is a water filter for drinking water. The water system is completely safe, but due to the high amount of chlorine in the water it is recommended that the water filter be used for tea, coffee etc. There is a ring binder with instructions in English for all the appliances in the house.

Theme Parks and nightlife: There are three theme parks for children of all ages at Benidorm. 'Terra Mitica' - like Altern Towers. 'Terra Natura' - Safari park and water park. 'Aqualandia' - Large water park. Also' Mundomar' - Dolfins. Nightlife here includes Benedrom Palace (meal and Show). There is a safari park 'Rio Safari' on the Santa Pola to Elche Road. Nightlife in Santa Pola includes Santa Pola Palace (meal and show). All the above have their own websites.

Other places to visit: Go up the lift to Alicante castle for fantastic views over the town and Mediterranean. See Guadalest Moorish castle up in the mountains (coach trips available). Stroll in the palm forest and gardens of Elche. Marvel at the Gothic cathedral of Santa Maria in Murcia. Treat yourself at the natural spar and beauty treatment north of Murcia. Watch out for 'blanket trips' at the local markets. These trips are entirely free apart from watching an half hour film on blanket making, but there is no pressure to buy and it provides a leisurely cheep day out. The above and other locations are included in their trips. Representative are usually at all markets but you have to book in advance.

Fantastic family holiday

Recently returned from one of the best family holidays we have had to date. Gran Alicant is a lovely town and all the local people are very plesant. English is not very widely spoken, but not to worry as there is plenty of Spanish dictionarys and phrase books in the house.
The house could not have been better, It was all it says here on the property details and more. There was 10 in our party in total, 4 adults and 6 children ranging in age from 13 yrs - 18 months. There was more than enough room to accomadate all of us comfortable. The house was very clean with everything provided including a washing machine which was of a huge benifit with a lot of children around. I honestly could not say enough about the standard of the house - to put it into one word I would say fantastic. With the pool right outside the door and the tennis and football area not much further all the children were kept entertained.

Don Pueblo is a gated community, which means that anyone without a key cannot gain access leading to a sence of security.

On first impressions of Gran Alicant it seems slightly isolated, until you find your bearings and the road train. This was very popular with the children as was the very friendly driver. The train stops outside the complex and goes all around town it stops at the beach and the bigger supermarkets at the shopping center, aswell as other stops along the way.

The bus stop for Alicante (highly recommended) and Santa Pola are near by, both of these have lovely beaches, shops and restaurents - they are well worth a visit.

I would highly recommend a visit to everyone.

Great family holiday

A clean, very well appointed townhouse, with everything we needed for our stay.and the air conditioning very useful in the heat. The pool, and area surrounding it, was well maintained, and the toddler pool was perfect for our 10 month old. A supermarket is located accross the road from the complex, and a nice beach a short drive, or good walk, away.

A Fantastic Holiday

We stayed at the ‘House of Smiles’ at the end of August/early September. The accommodation really was as good as we had hoped - spacious, clean, comfortable and very well equipped.

On first impressions, Gran Alacant seems to be a mass of houses, apartments and villas but does offer a good number of local amenities such as shops, bars and restaurants. There is a regular and rather handy bus which stops right out side the accommodation and is ideal for visiting the beach, commercial centre (large supermarkets) and other area’s of Gran Alacant on it’s circular route.

A short walk will also take you to the main bus stops for either Santa Pola or Alicante and the accommodation provides an excellent base to make the most of what these two fantastic places have to offer. If you don’t want to or cannot hire a car then do not worry too much as the bus services are very good, frequent and offer excellent value for money.

The sun shone everyday and it was very hot during our stay, the air conditioning was very welcome and our kids found the basement a great place to ‘chill out’ during the afternoon heat, a great bonus was the fact that the swimming pool stayed open until around 10.30pm allowing for a cool, refreshing swim early/late evening.

All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday and really enjoyed our stay here, hoping that we will be able to visit again in the not to distant future!
