Authentic Spain in a great place to stay

Quite simply, a lovely property in a great location, that delivers what it is meant to.
On arrival, my family (2 adults, 3 children 9, 9 and 10yo) were warmly welcomed by the owners and given helpful navigation of the property and local amenities.
The house is lovely, honest and authentic, in an old town pedestrian street that really makes you feel in amongst the wonderful atmosphere of Villa Joyosa. The building is slim and tall and was easily large enough to accommodate us all. The rooms are well appointed, clean and well equipped (there's even satellite TV! Not that you'll want to stay in and watch much). All electricals and plumbing did what they were meant to do and in the kitchen we felt all the main kit we needed was available. (Even a few off-spec beach toys downstairs). Well done the owners!
We went during fiesta week and really felt part of the festivities, whilst enjoying the peace of the old town location. From our balcony we were able to watch the solemn local procession with a statue of Santa Marta with bands and people in costumes of the period. The distance from the house to shops, beach, restaurants and bars was nothing - a really central and easy place to be based. There is also a small shop just down the street for emergency supplies.
Customer service from the owners was superb, both pre-arrival, during and after-stay - all arrangements were clear and we were kept informed all the way through - which when you have children to coordinate, is a blessing.
Villa Joyosa is a great place to visit for a more authentic Spanish experience - you feel like one of the locals very quickly, helped in part by the old town location of the house. We loved that atmosphere. The beach is excellent, safe and clean and not at all crowded (and that's during fiesta week!)
Fiesta week itself is a totally amazing experience and not to be missed. This house is an ideal place to enjoy the spectacle, but is lovely een in normal period - the fiesta just added something special and is one of those experiences one should have in life - watching the fireworks display from the house's roof terrace was wonderful! I just wished we could have stayed a second week.
I would recommend this property to anyone, perhaps with a particular recommendation to families with slightly younger children. You will find the owners organized and helpful in arrangements, and the house a perfect place to stay.
Would love to stay again!
Jerome
