Villamartin is situated approximately 40 minutes drive South from Alicante, or 20 minutes drive North from Murcia, and is ideally placed to cater for golfers, having easy access not only to the course at Villamartin, but also to Las Ramblas and Campamor. Further afield, La Marquesa & La Finca courses are only approximately 15 minutes away, and the famous course at La Manga is approximately a 40 minute drive South. The golden sandy beach at La Zenia is only a 5 minute drive.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A non-refundable deposit of £100 per week is required to secure booking, with the balance being due 6 weeks prior to departure. Lets of more or less than 7 or 14 days are fine (although we do ask for a minimum let of 3 days) and these will be priced on a pro-rata basis. Payments can be made by cheque, or directly into our bank account, details of which will be supplied once the booking is made.
    Whilst we are flexible on arrival and departure days, ie, bookings do not have to be from Saturday to Saturday, we regret we are unable to accommodate arrivals or departures on Sundays.
  • We will meet you on arrival to handover the keys, show you to the accommodation and to answer any queries you may have or provide further information on the resort and local area.
  • On arrival, a payment of 150 euros is to be made. 100 euros is a key/security payment and is refunded in full when the keys are returned and subject to there being no damage reported. 60 euros is to cover the cost of the cleaning prior to your arrival and after your departure. Normal check out is by 10:00 am and arrival after 16:00 pm, although other times can be arranged depending on availability of the accommodation prior to your arrival and after your departure. Again, please ask. The price is per week and not per person and includes full use of pool, electric, water and laundry (of supplied bedding and towels). Please bring your own beach/pool and tea towels. Please note, Maid Service is on exit only.

Notes: This brand new town house comprises a spacious open-plan lounge, with two comfy sofas, English Satellite TV and air conditioning. There is a dining area with table and chairs, which leads into the fully fitted American style kitchen. There is a full size family bathroom with vanity unit and bath with shower over. The master bedroom has two twin beds, and has its own en-suite shower room with toilet. Patio doors lead out into the rear enclosed grass garden, from which you can see the communal swimming pool. There is ample storage space with two large built in wardrobes. The second bedroom also has two twin beds, with large built in wardrobe. Ceiling Fans fitted. The property also has a large rooftop solarium with BBQ area, part of which is shaded, plus a smaller terrace at the front of the property. The front garden is also enclosed, and the property is situated in a quiet residential area, making it particularly safe for children. A cot can be provided for an additional charge.

Villamartin Plaza: The Villamartin Plaza is situated just 5 minutes walk away, and offers a varied selection of bars and restaurants offering a wide range of international cuisine. You're sure to find something to suit all tastes!

Beaches, Shopping & Markets: The nearest beach is a 5 minute drive away at La Zenia, but there are many beaches in the surrounding area, some busy and some quiet coves, all of which have a blue flag rating. The nearest supermarket is five minutes on foot at Villamartin Plaza. The nearest large supermarket is Consum, is just a 5 minute drive. The nearest Spanish market is now held each Saturday on Playa Flamenca (close to Mercadona) offering many bargains. There are also large markets held in Torrevieja on Friday, Guardamar on Wednesday and San Pedro on Monday. The town of Torrevieja is close by and here you can find an evening 'Craft market' on the sea front as well as many restaurants and bars. You can walk along the Promenade and stop off to enjoy a drink or meal at one of the many restaurants on offer.

Golf: The apartment is ideally situated for the Golfer, with 3 courses within a 5 minute drive. Villamartin is the most established of the three local courses and can be reached on foot (approximately 500 metres away), the other two being Campoamor and Las Ramblas. The apartment overlooking the first fairway of the Villamartin course, which is of championship standard, and is very challenging but also suitable for players of all abilities. Campoamor is set in two valleys with magnificent views. Las Ramblas is the shortest of the three but features high tees, narrow fairways and ravines making it a memorable course. The world famous La Manga course only a 40 minute drive south along the coast

Nice Appartment but with a Few Problems

This is a nice, small appartment. It is well situated, close enough to walk to the Plaza and 10 minutes drive from excellent beaches.

I did however come accross a few problems with it. My main bug bear was the cleaning charge. I understand that the cleaning takes place after you have stayed and that is fine in the middle of the season when the appartment is being used week after week but when we stayed it we told it hadnt been used since March. As a result I needed to spend a few hours cleaning the place as it was dusty and dirty, Although we didnt see any live ones when we were there I had to clear away many dead cockroaches from under the beds and sofas and in the bath. The barbeque hadnt been touched since it was last used and was filthy!

The appartment is described as air conditioned, in fact there is a small air conditioned unit by the front door and that is it. The bedrooms are serviced by ceiling fans! Also the satelite TV advertised is some form of Norweigan Package. This does supply BBC1, ITV1 and C4 but very little else that is watchable.

When we got there we had a few problems, the TV didnt work, the fan in the main bedroom didnt work and one of the blinds to the windows didnt work properly. I contacted the owner who said he would be around the next day as he was busy but he didnt turn up when he said he would. It took me to contact him back and to nail him down on a time to come the following day, when he did come round he fixed everything as expected. The gate at the front of the property was hanging off its hinges but despite three visits from the owner it wasnt mentioned or repaired. The front and the back garden had been left and had dried out and as a result were just small areas of dried soil, not suitable for our two year old to play in.

As I said, however, essentially this is a good appartment. The pool is two doors away and is a very good size and extremely clean and while we were there was very quiet. There are signs everywhere banning noise, litter, pets, food in the area of the pool. Inflatables and Balls are also banned so children from toddlers to teenagers were discouraged from playing, good for some bad for others.

Again, a good apartment in a good location just a shame about some details.

A definate recommendation

This property is well described on the website. One of the most important features for me was its close proximity to the V Martin plaza.
There are many other people living close by, and this was also important, as I didn't want to be in an isolated area.
The property was clean, and the small front lawn was mown.
It is a little bare inside and I think in the Winter it would need a couple of Rugs, some cushions, and maybe some Spanish paintings just to make it more comfortable.

There are a variety of areas to visit, apart from the V Martin plaza. We found one of the most lively to be Flamenca Beach less than 10 mins in the car. This has many good quality restaurants and bars. The best of these was "Chevaliers" a French restaurant, and The Lansdowne Irish pub. There is also an excellent Tapas bar, with typical Spanish food.

In the Plaza I found "Che" restaurant offerred a varierty of good quality food, and that was next door to another Irish pub "The Shandon Bells" which has Excellent Live Music.
The prices are a little higher in the plaza but we felt that the atmosphere made it worth the extra.

We went to a couple of good beaches, but the pool is very close by.

Our one longer trip was to Cartagena (50 minutes) which was a pleasant surprise, I printed off a review and found that very useful. Parking is easy at the port, and the castle is 10 minutes walk away. If you want to visit the Roman ampitheatre then you need to go into a museum from the square by the infomation office. It can be frustrating when you expect to get in from the top.This being Spain, there are no signs!!

I would happily recommend this property.

Great value for money and we got to see the sun!

We (two adults and two children, aged 13 & 12) stayed here in August '08.

The owner Kerry was always very quick and polite to respond to our questions before travelling, and accurate with all matters upon arrival.

The property itself is clean and very well stocked with all of those family essentials - microwave, dishwasher and especially the washing machine.........in short it is excellent value for money.

We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone in terms of condition, location (lovely and quiet) and general positioning within the general area.

Of course you are pretty much guranteed the sunshine on the Cosat Blanca and our two weeks were wonderful compared to the terrible weather being reported at home in the UK.

We have already booked to go back next year!
