Altea is a beautiful old Spanish town, sitting on a hill. One of the most enchanting historic quarters in the province, which nestles on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Characterised by white houses bunched together and narrow streets. There is an attractive seafront, harbour and marina, together with a plentiful supply of shops, banks, restaurants, tapas bars, cafés, etc. You can visit Terra Mittica, a new theme park, the water park Aqualandia, Safari park Terra Natura or the marine bird life centre Mundomar. You can enjoy a panoramic trip through the mountains to the medieval fortress of Guadelest, second most visited tourist attraction in Spain, dropping by on the way past to the Algar Waterfalls. Also close by to the villa there is the attractive golf course Don Cayo.
In Altea there is a newly built cultural centre Altea Palau, where there is a large choice of performances of ballet, theatre and orchestra. There is a good selection of beaches, including nudist bathing.
