Stunning views of local vineyards, the valleys of Javea, Moraira and the Mediterranean. Benitachell is a small village with typical narrow streets, good supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The towns of Javea and Moraira are each about 10 minutes drive away. Javea is a bustling resort with a long sandy beach, shops, bars and plenty of reasonably priced restaurants to suit all tastes. The narrow streets of the old town are lined with traditional Spanish apartments, shops and many restaurants. The Montgo National Park is within 10km; this stunning 780m peak dominates the landscape and offers an excellent vantage point with stunning views of this beautiful region. There are numerous walks within the park of varying gradients - all offer superb views.
Fiestas and Activities:
Weekly markets are a must, with a wide variety of leather goods, clothes, fruit and vegetables. This region of Spain is famous for its lively and colourful fiestas which are held regularly in most towns and villages. These take place throughout the year, but probably the most well known is the Moros Y Chistianos held in July, celebrating the reconquest by the Christians of Moslem-ruled Spain. Visit the beautiful Jalon valley and experience life amongst the extensive vineyards which produce the famous moscatel wine. For the children there is Aqualandia water slides, Mundamar Marine Park and Terra Mitica theme park all within easy reach near Benidorm.
Americas Cup Valencia 2007 :
Valencia hosted the 32nd Americas Cup in 2007, the first time this classic sailing race has been held in Europe -Sailing took place very close to the shoreline so spectators were able to follow the action from the beach and breakwater with good viewing capacity for over a million persons. All along the Costa Blanca coast the local marina facilities were upgraded and extended to allow for the cavalcade of yachts and boats which “invaded” the “white coast”.
Golf:
Within 5 minutes drive of the villa is Javea Golf Club situated between Moraira and Javea and open all year round. The course is a 9 hole and 3,035 metres. The course is easy to play and relatively flat. Other facilities include: driving range, putting green, heated swimming pool, club bar and restaurant. The Olazabal designed La Sella Golf Course is 15 minutes drive inland near the village of Jesus Pobre. The course has 18 holes, par 72 and is 6,029 metres. The course although flat has many trees and water obstacles and presents a very good challenge. Facilities include: driving range, putting green, motorised trolleys, club bar, lounge bar, restaurant and swimming pool. Both Javea and La Sella clubs have tennis and squash courts. Half an hour drive north to the village of Oliva is Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. This testing course 18 holes, par 72 and 7,051 metres. The club has a shop, driving range, restaurant, swimming pool and fitness centre.
