Away from it villa but still near everything !!

Date of Stay: May 2008
We stayed here early May 2008. The estate is ideal for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of resort life, but still have everything you need close by.
Villa is nicely laid out and nicely equipped, when we stayed in May the villa was in a very quiet area. Pool sun terrace had the sun all afternoon, if you wanted sun on a morning you needed to move to the side terrace.
Couldn't find the supermarket on the estate (think it was being refurbished) but the local town of Pego had everything from ALDI (very easy to park here and excellent for essentials) to another 2-3 supermarkets in the town centre (parking can be a little more difficult)
A new shopping centre with a huge eroski supermarket is on the road to denia (la marina i think it was called) and sold everything you could need.
The estate can be a little confusing so until you get your feet take the map mayodomo provide you. I made the mistake of not very early in our stay and got a little lost as i'd not paid attention!
Swiss restaurant on the estate was very good i'd highly recommend it, also restaurants in Denia offers loads of choice for restaurants and very good value if you use the menu del dia. The Italian Ticino was particularly good value at just 10.95 euro for 3 courses and a drink.
Sightseeing wise you are ideally placed to explore the northern part of the costa blanca. I would highly recommend a visit to Valencia which has lots to see if you are into sight seeing. Beaches are plentiful if sun bathing is your thing, of you want to mix the two I would highly recommend a trip to el Saler which has a fantastic beech with restaurants and from here you can get a bus into the centre of Valencia.
Only negative comments on villa is no maid came throughout our stay (2 weeks) so we had the same sheets throughout this may be normal in Spain but we are used to sheets being changed each week. Whilst the villa had satellite TV for those tele addicts amongst you please note only german stations were available as its not a digital box.

Owner's Response: Hi -
Many thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to give a very detailed picture of the area in general. We love the estate and the area ourselves very much and are happy to see that others praise the same things that we enjoy.
In relation to the change of towels and linen - Mayordomo clean the villa and leave towels and linen for your arrival. This is the cleaning/linen charge you pay. However, they would be pleased to change linen and towels as often as guests wish. Guests can arrange this with them on site - The charge for this is about 10 Euros per person.
As regards TV - true we only have the normal Spanish statuions and the free Astra ones - this includes music stations but no English - we generally enjoyed getting away from English TV for a while.
regards
Declan
