This beautiful modern villa apartment is situated on the ground floor of a large detached villa. Luz De La Luna (meaning Light of the Moon) offers its guests the exclusive use of the private swimming pool, bathing terrace and outside summer kitchen with views across the stunning Spanish countryside. With driveway parking guests enter the ground floor area through the apartment's private gated entrance. The apartment is very modern, beautifully furnished and boasts a shaded naya with dining room table and chairs overlooking the pool. There is one double bedroom and one twin room with a large separate bathroom with corner bath and separate walk-in shower unit. Also close by guests can use the communal pool, tennis courts, bar/restaurant and hard surface football court. There is a further restaurant in walking distance which offers live music or theme nights most evenings. The centre of Moraira is only a 5 minute drive (approx. 3 kms) and Javea being 10 minutes by car.

Moraira is situated in the North of the Alicante province on the Costa Blanca - the East coast of Spain. Approx 1 hours drive from Alicante airport and a further 20 minutes to Valencia airport. The development in the area is mostly privately-owned villas with no holiday package hotels whatsoever. Nearly all the properties are owned by Northern Europeans either as retirement or holiday homes and are spread over quite a substantial area. Not far inland the area is dominated by rugged mountains, cut by deep valleys and fertile plains which provide an impressive backdrop to the coastal landscape. Benidorm is around a 30 minute drive away where you will find great activities for the children, including Aqualandia Water Park, Terramitica (Spain's answer to Disneyland) and Mundomar (sea world).

Notes: Luz De La Luna has 4 or 5 steps which leads into the apartment. The two resident owners occupy the upper level of the villa and have every respect for the privacy of guests occupying Luz De La Luna apartment. Children are more than welcome, there are plenty of toys, games and videos in the apartment to keep them amused.

About Moraira.... : Once a sleepy fishing village, Moraira has grown into a small yet charming and picturesque town and yet due to strict planning laws is still very pretty and not over-developed. The main hub of life is beside the pretty yacht marina offering a good selection of restaurants and bars where you can sit outside and watch the world go by. A charming square still retains much of the original character and atmosphere and is home to the local church. There are restaurants, bars and several interesting shops lining the narrow cobbled streets. In the high season, the town comes alive in the evenings with locals and visitors alike

The beach.... : This little town also has its own popular wide, gently-shelving sandy beach with shallow waters and a smaller beach in the adjacent hamlet of El Portet. Both beaches were awarded the prestigious EEC Blue Flags for cleanliness and are safe for family bathing, both are also served by beach bars and restaurants which serve drinks, snacks and main meals. It is also well worth exploring the many other coves and bays along the coast with sand or sand/rock beaches

Its location... : Moraira is situated at the end of a long valley. The surrounding pine-clad foothills provide both shelter from the winter weather from the north and a natural vortex for cooling summer sea breezes. Moraira’s perfect orientation provides the majority of its properties with a southerly downhill view towards the sea. The development in the area is mostly detached privately-owned villas with very few holiday apartments and no holiday package hotels whatsoever and therefore accommodation is virtually limited to privately-owned villas. Nearly all the properties are owned by Northern Europeans either as retirement or holiday homes and are spread over quite a substantial area. The well-spaced villa development does mean that a car is a necessity in most areas.

Golf: There are upwards of 12 golf courses on the Costa Blanca and 4 within easy reach of Moraira. All are affiliated to the Spanish Federation and consequently can validate members handicap internationally. All have golf clubs for hire and most, if not all can provide coaching. CLUB DE GOLF ‘IFACH’ No of Holes: 9 Par: 60. The Club de Golf Ifach course is situated on the coast road between Moraira and Calpe on the San Jaime Urbanisation in Benissa, hence surrounding views of the most prestigious properties in the area, set in a beautiful fertile valley with distant scenes of Calpe’s D’Ifach rock and sparkling blue Mediterranean sea. CLUB DE GOLF JAVEA No of Holes: 9 Par: 72. Situated between Moraira and Javea, this all year course is slightly longer and quite flat, easier to play and not so tiring in the hot summer sun. It has been attractively landscaped around the greens and also benefits from a putting green, driving range, club bar and restaurant, heated swimming pool, tennis and squash courts. CLUB DE GOLF LA SELLA - No of Holes: 18, Par: 72. On the back-road between Javea and Denia, situated inland near the area of Jesus Pobre, this course was opened in 1991 and designed to use ‘all the clubs in the bag’. Although almost totally flat it has many trees and water obstacles (canals and lakes which provide the irrigation).

We would like you to pass on our sincerest thanks & regards to Richard & Sandra who were fantastic. They let us work away on our own & they are there

when & if we needed them. They where most helpful & the information they provide on the local area in the apartment villa is outstanding. The apartment villa

was super place to stay it was perfect for the family holiday we wanted. Our evening where filled great food cooked out doors, washed down be a glass of Rioja

while watching the sun set & playing endless games of scrabble & enchanted forest. The pool became the centre of our holiday & there was a danger at one point

of the kids sleeping in it. Getting out & about was so easy & there is so much to see, all we had to do was pick a direction. Moraira is great & we would highly recommend the costal drive, taking in Calp etc. We are now back in rainy Ireland & longing for another visit to the Costa Blanca.

Luz de La Luna, Moraira

It is nearly a year since we left Luz De La Luna, Moraira and had the most relaxing holiday that we have ever enjoyed. Sorry it has taken so long to write this review but once back to the rat race you never seem to get a moment to yourself. This, along with the nagging doubt that if I wrote the glowing truth about this holiday accommodation everyone would book it and there wouldn't be any room left for us! We return again Tuesday and can't describe how much we are looking forward to it!

We had the most wonderful family holiday at Luz De La Luna. The photos on the website do not do the villa justice. It is more lovely and spacious than the impression given by these pictures. The property was immaculate and well maintained throughout. Richard and Sandra were the perfect hosts; discreet and respectful of your privacy whilst at the same time being helpful and friendly. Every detail is taken care of.

In fact, it was the perfect accommodation for us and our two young boys. They loved the pool, slide and wide variety of toys to play with. When the sun got too much for them they just chilled under the naya reading a book or watched a dvd in the lounge area. The outdoor kitchen was perfect for us. We enjoyed many a barbeque under the naya in the shade, or at night time with the pool lights on and only felt the need to eat out on three occasions. The supermarket is a 5 min walk away for all your needs. The lack of air conditioning did not bother me or the children but my husband found it a little difficult to sleep in the heat. However, Sandra and Richard told us that it was unusually hot when we stayed last year.

Moraira town is only a 5-10 min drive away and though only small, it has a variety of good quality restaurants and civilized child friendly bars, beach and harbour. It also has the most divine ice cream parlour and small fun fair for young children. Javea is a larger town 20 mins drive away. It is worth a look, especially for the shops but is busier and more touristy and personally I prefer Moraira.

We had a wonderful holiday at 'Luz de la Luna'. The villa was beautiful with everything we could have wanted. We are all agreed it was the best holiday we have had and are looking forward to visiting again at some time in the future. Mr & Mrs J Appleby, Barnsley.

We had a lovely holiday and totally enjoyed ourselves. Luz De La Luna is an excellent villa and the large naya was our particular favourite thing. The area was superb, my 8 year old had such a great time. We hope to return again next year. Lynn Hughes, Leicester.
