Well maintained detached villa located on a sought-after urbanisation in a quiet cul-de-sac. Set within its own walled gardens and sunny terrace, Casa Leon enjoys the benefits of a lovely communal swimming pool with poolside shower, surrounded by mature gardens. A 10 minute walk will lead you to the beautiful hamlet of El Portet, one of the best little bays on the Costa Blanca, with its panoramic sandy bay and beachside snack/drinks bars. There is a small supermarket, chemist and further restaurants close by. Moraira town is located 1km (approx. 20 minute walk), the route from the villa to town boasts breathtaking views. The accommodation is on two independent levels. The upper level comprises one double and one twin bedroom, lounge, dining area, kitchen and bathroom. The separate lower level offers a double bedroom and en-suite shower room. The two levels are linked by external steps only. Bedrooms benefit from window mosquito blinds and the upper level is air conditioned.

Moraira is situated in the North of the Alicante province on the Costa Blanca - the East coast of Spain. Approx 1 hours drive from Alicante airport and a further 20 minutes to Valencia airport. The development in the area is mostly privately-owned villas with no holiday package hotels whatsoever. Nearly all the properties are owned by Northern Europeans either as retirement or holiday homes and are spread over quite a substantial area. Not far inland the area is dominated by rugged mountains, cut by deep valleys and fertile plains which provide an impressive backdrop to the coastal landscape. Benidorm is around a 30 minute drive away where you will find great activities for the children, including Aqualandia Water Park, Terramitica (Spain's answer to Disneyland) and Mundomar (sea world).

About Moraira: Once a sleepy fishing village, Moraira has grown into a small yet charming and picturesque town and yet due to strict planning laws is still very pretty and not over-developed. The main hub of life is beside the pretty yacht marina offering a good selection of restaurants and bars where you can sit outside and watch the world go by. A charming square still retains much of the original character and atmosphere and is home to the local church. There are restaurants, bars and several interesting shops lining the narrow cobbled streets. In the high season, the town comes alive in the evenings with locals and visitors alike. There is a Friday morning market which is a must to visit and is very popular for its excellent fruit & veg. Also in Moraira is a children's fun fair, crazy golf and a go-karting track which is about a 10 minute drive out from Moraira and an interesting nightly street market.

The beach: The beautiful hamlet of El Portet is only a 10 minute walk away from the villa. It offers a safe, sandy beach, beachside cafe and beautiful views. There is also parking should you wish to take the car. A further 10 minutes brings you to the town of Moraira which also has its own popular wide, gently-shelving sandy beach with shallow waters. The walk from El Portet to Moraira is breathtaking taking in stunning, elevated views across El Portet bay, Moraira's pretty marina and across to Calpe's Ifach Rock in the distance. Both beaches were awarded the prestigious EEC Blue Flags for cleanliness and are safe for family bathing, both are also served by beach bars and restaurants which serve drinks, snacks and main meals. It is also well worth exploring the many other coves and bays along the coast with sand or sand/rock beaches.

The area: Moraira is situated at the end of a long valley. The surrounding pine-clad foothills provide both shelter from the winter weather from the north and a natural vortex for cooling summer sea breezes. Moraira’s perfect orientation provides the majority of its properties with a southerly downhill view towards the sea. The development in the area is mostly detached privately-owned villas with very few holiday apartments and no holiday package hotels whatsoever and therefore accommodation is virtually limited to privately-owned villas. Nearly all the properties are owned by Northern Europeans either as retirement or holiday homes and are spread over quite a substantial area. The well-spaced villa development does mean that a car is a necessity in most areas, although this villa is a 20 minute walk into Moraira town.

Golf: There are upwards of 12 golf courses on the Costa Blanca and 4 within easy reach of Moraira. All are affiliated to the Spanish Federation and consequently can validate member’s handicap internationally. All have golf clubs for hire and most, if not all can provide coaching. CLUB DE GOLF ‘IFACH’ No of Holes: 9 Par: 60. The Club de Golf Ifach course is situated on the coast road between Moraira and Calpe on the San Jaime Urbanisation in Benissa, hence surrounding views of the most prestigious properties in the area, set in a beautiful fertile valley with distant scenes of Calpe’s D’Ifach rock and sparkling blue Mediterranean Sea. CLUB DE GOLF JAVEA No of Holes: 9 Par: 72. Situated between Moraira and Javea, this all year course is slightly longer and quite flat, easier to play and not so tiring in the hot summer sun. It has been attractively landscaped around the greens and also benefits from a putting green, driving range, club bar and restaurant, heated swimming pool, tennis and squash courts. CLUB DE GOLF LA SELLA - No of Holes: 18, Par: 72. On the back-road between Javea and Denia, situated inland near the area of Jesus Pobre, this course was opened in 1991 and designed to use ‘all the clubs in the bag’. Although almost totally flat it has many trees and water obstacles (canals and lakes which provide the irrigation).

An excellent location for a relaxing (wind-down) holiday. The directions provided from the airport were so easy to follow. We found the villa in perfect condition - very clean. The villa was equiped with absolutely everything that we needed, in fact more than any self-catering accommodation that we've used before; it was equiped more like a home!

The communal pool was very clean but note it is not ideal for lounging around - it is more for swimming only - but not a problem as the villa and its loungers are only a short walk away. The beach, which is really nice and clean, is an easy walk, as is the local town of Moraira, which has enough restaurants to try for months, yet alone a week!

We really loved the area - everyone was very friendly, it was clean, well maintained and very cosmopolitan; so much so, we would love to move there! Would thoroughly recommend this villa to friends who need a relaxing holiday.

We stayed at this villa for a week and really enjoyed it.
The little beach (10min walk) is really adorable with just two little bar surounding the whole beach where you can have breakfast, lunch snack or dinner.
Everything was ready for us to use from the bbq to net and surfing board.
The pictture on the website didn't really show the real beauty of the place.
Don't hesitate you won't regret it.

Having stayed in a variety of villas in Moriara over the years, we now think that we have found the one that is just right for our family( with teenagers) holidays. We don't think that the photos of Casa Leon do justice to the spacious outside,the number of chairs, sunbeds etc meant that we made great use of this space; the inside is very well equipped and comfortable and we all enjoyed the communal pool area.
The walk into Moraira is beautiful and very manageable even with the heat. We will be back.

We are delighted to let you know that definately had the best family holiday we have ever had in Spain at Casa Leon. The villa was clean and well equiped. The service we received from Lemon Tree Villas was exceptional and very professional. El Portet is exactly what we have been looking for, very pretty and stunning views from the villa, (not a hight rise or crane in sight!) The pool was perfect and never too busy. A very friendly little place with a lovely mix of other English families looking for the same sort of holiday as us and some French and Spanish. The beach is absolutely beautiful with shallow warm clear blue sea and soft sand. Moraira is only a short but very pretty walk along the cost and offers a lots of bars, restaurants etc with a lovely little marina to mooch round too. We will definately be back.

We just wanted to let you know that we have just had our best family holiday ever! You looked after us extremely well and supplied us with an outstanding villa and pool. We were impressed with the size and cleanliness of the villa and the facilities. Your description of both the villa and the location (Moraira) didn't do it justice - it was fantastic.
