Our villa is located in a quiet residential area with fantastic views of the mountains and orange groves. It is detached with lovely gardens and terraces to laze in the sunshine or lie in the shade under one of the trees. The private pool which is approximately 7.5m x 4m x 1.6m deep, is surrounded by a large tiled area, where there is a large umbrella to provide shade. Other terraces with tables and chairs provide a different aspect. One of the terraces has an Outback 3-burner gas barbecue. If you visit at the right time of year you will be able to pick your own figs, grapefruit, oranges or lemons from our trees. The village with its numerous bars and restaurants is within easy walking distance. The lovely old town of Denia with its beaches and castle is a 20 minutes drive away.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The prices are for the rental of the villa per week and are inclusive of bed linen, gas, water and electricity. A surcharge for use of the oil central heating will be made in winter. Bath and hand towels are provided for use in the villa only. Towels for swimming or the beach are not supplied.
  • Changeover day is Saturday to Saturday in July and August, with consideration given to other arrival dates outside this period. The villa will be available from 4.00 p.m. on day of arrival and visitors are requested to depart no later than 10.00 a.m. on day of departure to permit servicing of the villa for the next visitors.
  • Booking requirements: A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required on booking, with the balance due 8 weeks before the start of the holiday. A security deposit of £100 will be required with the balance and will be returned upon receipt of the keys and a report of no damage to the villa or its contents.

Notes: The lounge has a wood burning stove, air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Board games, books and information of the area are available. The villa has a separate utility room for the washing machine, oil-fired central heating boiler and general storage. Satellite channels are available on the flat screen TV. Central heating is available from November to April inclusive and a surcharge will be made for use of the central heating. Both the kitchen and the bathroom have been completely refurbished in 2008. There are air conditioning units and ceiling fans in both bedrooms and the double bedroom has a safe. There are 5 steps from the covered parking area to the front door of the villa, otherwise the villa and gardens are level. On one of the terraces there is an Outback 3-burner gas barbecue, together with table and chairs so you can have long, lazy barbecues watching the sun go down over the mountains. Beach towels for use around the pool are not provided.

Local village of Orba: Orba is a typical, Spanish country village. It is surrounded on three sides by hills and mountains, whilst the valley is full of citrus, almond and olive groves. The shops in the village, approximately 5 minutes walk away, can provide all your needs - butchers, bakers, supermarkets, off-licence, restaurants and bars. Orba has a small weekly market on Wednesday.

Nearby coastal resorts: Denia is only a short drive away with its lovely old town dating back to Roman times. It also has a castle, a harbour, fishing fleet and lots of super shops, not to mention miles of sand and pebble beaches. Boat trips along the coast are available as are ferries to the Balearic Islands. Javea has a famous stretch of beach called the Arenal with golden sands, and is lined with cafés, restaurants and shops. Overlooking both Denia and Javea is the Montgo mountain which becomes a familiar landmark during your stay and it is possible to walk to the top if you are feeling energetic. Sandy beaches also stretch from Oliva to Gandia and are very quiet and uncommercialised. Another landmark on the coast is the Penon d'Ifach rock which sticks out into the sea at Calpe.

Other activities: Benidoleig, in the next village, has some interesting limestone caves which are well worth a visit. There are many glorious drives into the mountains, and a trip to the village and Moorish castle of Guadalest should not be missed. La Sella golf course at Pedreguer is nearby, and there are golf courses at Javea and Oliva. Benidorm is a half hour's drive away and has the 'Terra Mitica' theme park, 'Aqualandia' water park and 'Mundomar' sea world park, not to mention the Benidorm Palace for evening entertainment. It is a great area for walking, with many beautiful walks both easy and challenging.

A brilliant week...........

Just returned home from a week in the sun at Villa Bertom and to say it was brilliant is an understatement.
The villa was stunning. Clean, well equipped with everything you could possibly need to make your holiday enjoyable.
Daphne & Darrell are excellent hosts and gave a warm welcome. The information folder that is provided in the villa gave us all the information we required.
The village, although a short walk away would be difficult for people with walking difficulties visiting as the area is a bit hilly.
I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful stress free holiday.
There is a wide range of resturants available locally but we decided to stock up the fridge, sit by the pool and cook in the luxury of the excellent facillities provided.......
There is not much more that we can add to this review except to say that we had a fantastic time at Villa Bertom!

Property located in small 'spanish' village, however good mix of english ex-pats. Several good restaurants, english and spanish speaking, local Cornish shop with good value meals. Selection of small shops, butcher, bakers.
Property recently had new kitchen, bathroom fitted to excellent standard. Ample room inside and out for family of four or four adults. Well-maintained and to a high standard of cleanliness, exellcent selection of untensils, microwave, washing machine, large professional gas barbecue and large fridge freezer.
Owners happy to accomodate wishes of renting party when purchasing welcome pack and easily contacted via mobile via text or telephone call.
Highly recommended.
