'Cal Pastor' is a charming, comfortable house with full central heating, listed in the official Spanish rural tourism guide. Situated at the edge of a peaceful, wine-growing village in the foothills of the Pyrenees the house is both intimate and spacious. There is a large fully equipped kitchen with an open fireplace, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The sitting room opens onto a small terrace overlooking the patio. There is a games room for playing table tennis. Opposite the house is the garden and off-street parking. With the mountains behind it is the perfect pastoral setting for people who love nature. It is close to local Costa Brava beaches of Llança and Roses, and the enchanting market town of Figueres. And we are recommended in the Rough Guide to the Costa Brava 2005 page 182!!

Alt Empordà: The village of Rabós,in the Alt Empordà, is in a favoured position in the north-eastern tip of Spain's Catalunya. Within an hours drive one can visit the coast of Cap de Creus and Cadaques, the famed bohemian coastal town, or travel to Girona, capital of the province with its renowned cathedral and exciting museums..or cross the border to the sleepy villages of Cotlioure and Banyuls , not forgetting Perpignan,centre of the universe according to Salvador Dalí. Or stay put and treck through the hills behind the village, still wild and still beautiful, smelling of mountain rosemary and thyme.

Local Pleasures: The village itself is within a small wine-growing area,and built on rocky soil, this lends the wine its particular strength. Surrounding the village are olive groves and the Albere mountains : the backdrop and frontier division between the village and France. The coast is wild and rocky too, but there are beaches for everyone with great open bays for those who prefer sand, and tiny coves for those who tend to the more remote. Figueres, the local town, is a buzzing and lively place with plenty to entertain everyone...Dalí Museum, shops, the Ramblas and eternal outdoor Spanish cafés of every type abound.

Cal Pastor - Official Rural Tourism: Listed in the Catalan Government Guide to Rural Tourism, this warm and friendly house is a wonderful retreat, exuding a flavour of the real Spain. With masses of local culture, this area has been a favourite spot for artists since the beginning of this century and the stunning combination of land and seascapes ensure a memorable visit. Finally, Gerona airport is a 45 minute drive - perfect for mini-breaks!
