Walking Holidays: We are very keen walkers and spend a great deal of our time at Begur walking the coastal paths or travelling inland to the mountains to hike in the beautiful countryside. Walking routes are well waymarked but we can give you any advice or information that you may need to plan a walking holiday. We would be quite happy to suggest walks/routes of varying difficulty in the local area.The coastal path is delightful .It is possible to walk to Tamariu beach from our house.It takes about 35 minutes.
Site Seeing: As we know the whole area of the Costa Brava very well ,we are in a good position to advise you on the numerous site seeing trips that you might want to take. Begur is in an excellent position whether you want to visit a water park with your children , take a trip in a glass bottomed boat to the Medes Islands or explore the local historic medieval towns. This is also Dalí country and an excursion to Port Ligat ,Figueres or Castle Gala Dalí is a memorable experience. Girona is also only a 40 minute drive and is a wonderful city, quite small and easy to negotiate but full of interesting history and some excellent restaurants. There are some fascinating coastal towns such as Llfranc and Callela de Palafrugel which have very attractive beaches, you tell us your interests and we would be happy to give you ideas . We love this area and although we don't want it to become too well known as it is very unspoilt without an English pub in sight , we are happy to share it
Fine Dining: Catalan cuisine and wine is justly famous .There are numerous restaurants to satisfy the most demanding of foodies. Please ask us for some ideas!
Golf:
Golf courses in this area are well known.There are three courses form the Golden Triangle in the area of Pals including a new championship course built in 2000. Pals is approx 10 minutes de from Casa de la Luna.
Emporda Golf course is made up of four 9 hole courses each of which can be combined to form 6 different rounds of 18 holes. Emporada is also one of PGA European Tour qualifying schools. Details: 27 holes. Length 6687 yds. Par 71-73
Pals Golf Club runs parallel with the beautiful white sands of Pals. Details. 18 holes. length 6740 yds. Par 73.
Serres De Pals This is a new championship course. It is composed of 3 distinct areas with smooth hilltops, pine forests and fairways between lakes giving a challenge to golfers of all levels. Details. 18 holes. 6785 yds. Par 72. This whole area is a golfers' paradise especially in the autumn and spring. Courses are not very expensive or crowded.
Other Activities:
Begur is a charming medieval village with narrow winding streets and plenty of shops,bars and restaurants.The beaches and coves are spectacular .
