Our holiday home sits in a 1000m2 level plot at the foot of the Gavarres hills. Comfortably furnished throughout and well equipped for self-catering, both in the kitchen and garden, where there is a broad covered terrace alongside the large in-built barbecue. There are shady areas under the trees in which to eat or simply relax. Especially suited for families with younger children the garden is enclosed and the private pool, which is visible both from the terraces outside and the living room within, has a separate children's paddling pool end. Suitable for golfers with excellent golf courses a short drive away. The property has electric radiators which makes it suitable for early or late bookings. The perfect retreat if you have had enough of the beautiful beaches, countryside and medieval towns. The villa is equipped with fans in the 4 bedrooms and mosquitto nets on bedroom windows. Table tennis, basket ball outside, MP3/ipod dock speaker, stereo system, satillite TV, DVD, WiFi.

The medieval village of Calonge, 2km away, has all the amenities eg restaurants, weekly market. A restaurant in walking distance. Nearest beach is 5 minute drive away, which stretches from the fishing port of Palamos (where there are plenty of good fish restaurants) to the quiet family resort of Sant Antoni. Our personal favourite beach is La Fosca (a 10 minute drive) which is a small, natural bay with the added advantage of a gentle sloping beach into the sea and the beautiful natural cove of Castell with plenty of stunning costal walks. The pretty coves of Llafranc and Begur are a 20 minute drive away. Heading south you have a Water park at Platja d'Aro, a 15 minute drive away with slides and flumes. A bit further south is the Victorian town of Sant Feliu de Guixois which has a marina and family beach. Head inland and there are plenty of walks in the beautiful Gavarres National reserve. The hill-top hamlet of Romanya (just a few km away) has two restaurants with stunning views.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rates include a weekly change of bed linen and towels (not beach or pool towels) and a weekly house clean. Low season arrival and departure dates can be flexible, please ask and I will try to accommodate you.
    I ask for a 30% deposit on booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival. In addition to this a refundable security deposit of £300 is required payable before arrival and refunded within 14 days of your departure, less any deductions for losses, damages or breakages.

    Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the villa but ashtrays are provided if you wish to smoke outside in the garden.

    A welcome pack of groceries can be provided for when you arrive at the villa for a small fee - please ask for details

    As the pool is private there is no life guard, so children should always be supervised in and around the pool.

    You will need to provide you own travel insurance
  • Swimming pool may be heated for bookings in early or late season, if booked in advance for an additional charge of £175 per week.
  • Cots can be provided, with bedding, at a cost of £20 each per week.

Golf closest to villa is at Club de Golf d'Aro at : Platja d'Aro, 15 mins, with its astonishing layout and breathtaking views of the Med, offers a challenge, it also has an excellent practice ground. 20 minutes away is Club de Golf Costa Brava at Sant Cristina, a gently undulating 18 holes offering moderate difficulty. It has an excellent restaurant. 20 mins away, home of earlier Spanish Open Tournaments is one of Spains oldest courses at Golf de Pals with a beautiful rustic clubhouse and offering a challenging course.

25 mins away is Golf Serres de Pals, 30 mins is Emporda Golf Club with 36 holes of unusual mixture of grassy, sandy links and pines with many water hazards.

45 mins away is the home to The Sarazon Open and the Spanish Open, PGA Catalunya. An astounding test of golf! With an huge practice ground.

An hour away: is the Golf Girona, on a mountain above the town with breathtaking views.

Lovely villa for a peaceful family holiday

The villa is well equipped with everything one could need for a family holiday. We had 5 adults and my 2 young grandchildren in our party and there was plenty of space for everyone. The pool, gardens and outside dining area were particularly appreciated, though the little ones also enjoyed having UK TV channels so that they could go inside in the midday heat. The villa is extremely convenient for getting around and there is a good supermarket just down the road with an excellent fresh fish counter for those who want to self cater, though there are several excellent resturants in the area - El Refugi in Romanya just 10 minutes drive along a country road is particularly recommended. I would recommend the villa to anyone who wants a relaxing stay in a lovely part of Spain.

Great villa in fab location!

We, 4 adults and 1 child, stayed at Casa Sant Roc in April and had a fantastic break. The villa is well equipped and the location is excellent for exploring this part of Spain.
It is a great escape from the hustle and bustle but with the benefit of easy access to a wealth of towns and beaches, that is if you can drag yourself away from the well kept gardens and superb pool!!
There really is something for everyone in this area - great scenic drives lead to pretty medieval villages or beautiful little coves, miles of coastal paths for those who prefer an afternoon stroll, fantastic cycling especially if you like hills(!), and plenty of wonderful beaches - La Fosca for the beach lover, Sa Tuna for a pretty tranquil cove are our recommendations.
We will definitely be making a return visit as there is so much more we want to see and do in the area.

Fantastic family villa

Another fantastic holiday in this spacious and well designed family villa.

This is the second year we have booked this villa. The house itself is well laid out with good sized bedrooms, a well equiped kitchen, and a comfortable lounge area, with UK satellite TV and a DVD player. The swimming pool is ideal for the whole family, safe enough for the kid, and deep enough for adults to swim without hitting knees. There is an ideal shaded outdoor eating area, and a good sized BBQ. The gardens are well maintained, and attractive.

The location is very quiet, but the village of Calonge is close by, and Palamos has plenty to offer only 5 miles away.

Will definately book again.

A perfect holiday!

We had a fantastic holiday in Casa Sant Roc. Especially the garden and swimming pool are fabulous! Our party had two little children and they had the time of their life. Inside the house was smaller than we expected but everything was there. We sure planning to go back!
