Lovely quiet modern Spanish townhouse with large sunny patio in the beautiful village of Begur, just a few minutes drive from the pretty local beaches of the Costa Brava such as Lla Franc and Sa Tuna (as seen in the Sunday Times magazine and Sunday Express). The property can sleep 6 and briefly comprises of a large bright open plan lounge & diner, large sunny patio, kitchen, utility room, additional downstairs WC, 2 doubles and 1 twin bedroom, a large modern high quality wet room/bathroom. The property has been furnished with all modern conveniences such as dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer, Sky TV, DVD player and stereo. The large patio area is perfect for family dining or entertaining, sunbathing, relaxing with a good book or cooling off in the outdoor shower! This property has easy access to Girona (30 min), Barcelona (1hr 30 min) and Perpignan/France (1 hour).

The charming medieval village of Begur is nestled on a hilltop surrounded by pine trees in the heart of the Costa Brava. The beautiful coastline of the peninsular is just minutes away with other local villages and towns such as Pals and Palafrugell a short easy drive. There is lots to see and do in this area whether you are interested in walking, sightseeing, watersports or just relaxing on one of the many beautiful coves! The area has been featured in a number of magazine articles including The Sunday Times magazine. Begur is the perfect base for visiting some of the other lovely villages and towns in the region. For instance, the elegant city of Girona is just 30 minutes by car, Barcelona 1hr and 30 mins and France (Perpignon) 1 hour.

Excellent House in a great area of Spain

This house lived up to our expectation from the description and the previous reviews. It lacks nothing and is excellent value. The owner was also very helpful with our booking and providing information on the locality. Begur is a very attractive town and is well located for the local beaches which are small and not overrun with high rise developments. At the end of September everywhere was reasonably quiet despite excellent weather, which made our holiday even more relaxing. The local supermarket just off the traffic island on the way into town is worth a mention as it stocks a good range of foods and household goods. The bread is baked in the store, the fruit and veg are good quality and it has a good selection of meats and cheese.

We stayed at the house last Easter. The owners went out of the way to make sure we had all the right information about how to get there, as we arrived late at night and upon arrival we were delighted to be 'greeted' by a starter pack of milk, water, loo roll, beer and a bottle of Vino! Great start to what turn out to be a fabulous holiday that ended all too soon!
The house proved to be excellent value, had everything we needed. It was clean & modern, had a great wet room shower/bathroom and a fantastic sun trap terrace at the back of the house. Recommend both the property but also the area. This really is a beautiful part of the world, with access to some lovely beaches, villages and great resturants! We will be back!

Very happy holiday

We have stayed at the house 3 times now - 'we' being four 'youngish' retirees from the North West!! The house has everything you need, with a lovely sunny back private terrace. Its extremely clean, modern and not stuffed with personal items (which has been the case when renting other properties!) I know the area very well as have visited it on and off for 20 years! The house is well positioned to not be in right in centre of town, where in high season it can be fun but noisey! So a 10 minute stroll and you in the centre without the fuss of parking. Also Begur is generally well situated to provide access to all the local beaches & beauty spots of which there are many! Highly recommend the area, highly recommend the house and in high season it represents good value when you compare it with others. We also stayed out of season for a spring break and its been even better value as the rate is much reduced.

A Beautiful Spot

I stayed at this property with my husband and two young children in June 2008. It is in a quiet residential road and is well maintained. On arrival, all the rooms were made up and the welcome pack was a nice touch. We love the clean and modern design, which was perfect for us with a young family - style with practicality. The garden is safe and enclosed with an outside shower - which as you can imagine was a great hit with the children. It is an ideal base in which to explore the beautiful coastline and numerous beaches. We especially enjoyed being so close to the village which has great bars/cafes to sit outside and relax watching life go by - day and night. There is a local supermarket 2/3 minutes walking distance away and various other ones in the village. There is a weekly market in Begur and also in the neighbouring town Parafugel that is worth a visit. There are also plenty of good restaurants in the village. However if you decide to stay in, the kitchen is well equipped and the house has all the home from home facilities, - dishwasher, microwave, large fridge, freezer, washing machine and TV with sky. It was very family friendly and our two children loved it. We have stayed here on several occasions over the last 3/4 years and would certainly visit again. We have always found the house faultless "

A house we hope to return to soon

This summer we visited this house for the second time. It is deceptively spacious with a pleasantly large open plan living area with doors that open on to an attractive terrace at the back. We were a party of seven, two adults and five children and were accommodated well in this property. The village of Begur is within easy walking distance and offers a good range of restaurants, bars and shops which were very family friendly. I don't understand the previous reviewer who could not sleep due to the noise from the disco. On both occasions that we holidayed there we did not experience this even though we were there in high season.

The kitchen was well equiped with all necessary facilities. We have stayed in other houses in the area which did not provide bed linen and towels so we were very glad to see that everthing was provided on arrival. The house was also very clean.

As a family we love this part of Spain and hope to visit again soon. When we do we hope that we will be able to book this house again as we find it very central, comfortable and good value for money.
