Our villa is set in a very quiet location close to the town of Begur and within five minutes drive of some of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Brava. We have a fabulous solar heated swimming pool with a south facing terrace which is a real sun trap! The house is very well orientated and therefore gets the sun all day long yet, you can always find a shady spot if needs be. The living accommodation is spacious and opens to a covered terrace overlooking the pool and the mountains. The kitchen is well equipped and opens onto the Barbeque area to the side of the house. It is a fabulous holiday home within easy access of all that this gorgeous part of Spain has to offer. Why don't you contact us and we will tell you all about it. Though we say that the house sleeps 6 we can accommodate small children and can provide a high chair and travel cot. We have made the outside terraces child friendly and have safety gates to prevent them accessing the pool without adult supervision.

Local Information

Begur is absolutely charming with lots of narrow streets with many good restaurants and chic shops. In the evening during the summer there is entertainment in the town square with everything from Catalan Sardanes dancing to Discos for the children (and some adults!). Palafrugell which is 3k away is a bigger town and better for shopping. There is a daily fruit,veg, meat and fish market and on Sunday morning there is a spectacular big market with lots of stalls selling anything from canaries to 'designer' watches and handbags. We are approximately half way between the two places and roughly the same distance to the beaches of Aigua Blava, Tamariu and Aigua Gelida.

Things to do

If the sea is your real interest then it is hard to beat the crystal clear waters of this unspoilt area of the Costa Brava. Locally it is very easy to snorkell, dive, sail, fish, hire a canoe. There is a wonderful walking trail through the woodland and cliff tops all along the Costa Brava and has been very popular (featured recently on BBCs holiday programme with Angela Rippon). Golf is another option with a number of championship courses in the area. There are also some quite challenging par 3 courses which might be of interest to those wishing to practise their short game. Prices are very reasonable, particularly in the winter months and we would be happy to suggest some of the better courses. At the end of our road is the Cava Bodega where at weekends you can try before you buy... they also have a great restaurant. Food in this area is exceptionally good and very reasonable if fact it is hard to find a poor restaurant. As for the wine... it is not Bordeaux but nor are the prices
