Lovely Spanish villa in the foothills of Vizcondado de Cabanyes, set in a quiet location near to the town of Calonge, in the heart of the Costa Brava. The property is on two levels, bedroom one is on the ground floor, whilst bedroom two and three are located in two separate towers, with separate staircases on each end of the villa. The villa sits on a large flat plot with no steps or slopes to negotiate. Our agents are English, live locally and can offer suggestions on places of interest. The Villa is only 3km from Sant Antoni where you will find long sandy beaches and coves, all with blue flag rating. The fishing town of Palamos lays 10min drive north, or a 15min walk from Sant Antoni on the long promenade which connects the two towns. Palamos offers excellent restaurants and shopping. 10min drive south you will find Playa D'Aro a modern town with upmarket shopping and an abundance of restaurants and lively night life. Barcelona and Girona are both within easy reach.

The Villa is set in a very quiet area at the foothills of the Gavarres, at Vizcondado de Cabanyes. Close to the medieval town of Calonge and within easy reach of Sant Antoni, Palamos and Playa D' Aro. The Villa's location offers the contrast of a complete away from it all relaxing by the pool style holiday, alternatively a few minutes drive to the many varied and beautiful beaches, or travelling further afield to enjoy the wonderful countryside. Just 35 minutes from Girona and 90 minutes from Barcelona, with many other historical and cultural towns all within a 1 hour drive. Within easy reach there are many good shops, restaurants and daily markets to enjoy.

New for 2007! The villa now has a wonderful outdoor summer kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with barbecue, fridge, sink and bar stools. This covered open kitchen is ideal for outdoor entertaining whether it be a barbeque or a cooling afternoon cocktail. The kitchen is only a few steps away from the covered outdoor eating area. The villa has the added advantage of having a wonderful sun room off the lounge overlooking the large pool area. The villa has a large private terrace off one of the upstairs bedrooms, the terrace has a table and chairs for you to enjoy a relaxing breakfast or drink whilst taking in the lovely views of the surrounding countryside.

Our stay lasted only 2 weeks. Too few! Least another week would be ideal.
The house is in a fantastic location. It 'a kind of "Residential Zone" in the green and peace.
shall have all the amenities and the pool is really beautiful.
Coupons also services: sheets and towels every week, even if we brought it all home. We preferred this way.
Sean and Davina, the referents, people are really nice. For any needs are always available. Dear Curtis also, the guy who comes to clean the pool 3 times a week.
The climate we found it fantastic. Of hot dry days and cool nights, enough to sleep with the sheet.
The beach, which is to Palamos Platja d'Aro is a few kilometers and can be reached by car.
Palamos is a quieter, from family. Are all the restaurants and fish from 5 to 8 pm, Monday to Friday, there is the fish market.
Platja d'Aro is the area of Movida. Many shops and bars, both at sea and along the main road.
To summarize: the vacation of the last 10 years! I hope to be back in 2010.

Stayed September/October 2008 3 weeks. House was fantastic. Had everything you needed and things that you didnt think you needed! Agent Davina was always on hand or the mobile to help. Brilliant professional covered barbecue/kitchen outside, dined on the terrace frequently. Supermarket very nearby with good fresh produce and wine of course. Five minute drive to the beach in St Antoni. The swimming pool and outside areas are great. There is a corner for everyone in a good sized private garden. Parking off road for three cars. Situated in a quiet housing estate, didn't feel like a holiday let at all.

Costa Brava is now one of my favourite memories. Beautiful coastline and mountainous drives. Recommend nearby Palamos for resturants and a bit of nightlife. Lots to see favourite places Cadaques, Port Lligat, Figueres for Dali museum, Girona, Barcelona and lovely little town called Begur with a music festival and dancing in the street when we visited one Sunday. Great jazz in Palafrugell one night of an international standard never to be forgotten. Lesson learnt is the Spanish dont go over the top with advertising events so look carefully and you will come across some great moments. Ate out frequently too numerous to mention never had a 'bad experience' all very reasonable in price.

Overall this location and house are perfect if you just want to get away from it all, the house is spacious and well equipped. Very private and tranquil but if you are feeling adventurous there is something for everyone in a very beautiful part of Spain. Spanish people in this area are very approachable, warm and always helpful to someone with a little Spanish or French language. Would do it all again maybe in 2009 ......................
