Villa Immona is situated in the hills behind Calonge, a typical Catalonian village. The villa is very spacious ( 215m2 ), featuring open plan kitchen, lounge and dining room area, ideal for family living. There is a second lounge to relax in, which can also be used as 4th bedroom, as it is furnished with a double sofabed. On the ground floor are two bedrooms, one bathroom and on the first floor, there is another bedroom with showerroom and toilet facilities, and a roof terrasse with beautiful views to the sea. The villa is set in its own private garden with further terrasses and a pool.

Notes: There is a second lounge, which can be used as fourth bedroom, with a sofabed for 2 people. Sheets and towels are provided and get changed once a week. You need to bring your own beach towels. We can cater for families with small children, a cot and a highchair are available and the pool is fenced in. There is a satellite dish, which can receive Sky. You need to bring your own decoder and card from England to receive this service. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a decoder and card locally. There is an extra charge of 25Euros per week for internet access.

Area Information: Calonge is a typical catalan village, about 2.5kms from the mediterranean. Here you can find all the facilities like supermarkets, post office, banks, bars and restaurants. To the east of Calonge, 10 minutes by car along the coast, is Palamos, an old Spanish fishing port with an attractive old town with pedestrian areas. 10 minutes by car to the west is the lively town of Platja d'Aro, with more shops and discotheques and restaurants. Daytrips to Gerona or Barcelona can also be recommended.

Activity information: Our villa is ideal for family or group holidays. Swimming is readily available either in the private pool, or on one of the many sandy beaches, or the rocky bays along the coast. There are several golf courses within easy driving distance. There are 2 horse riding centres within a 30 minute drive. The country side is ideal for walkers. If you wish to play tennis there are facilities in the village. Many other specialist activities are available, but too numerous to list here.

How to get here: It is very easy to visit us here on the Costa Brava. It's possible to drive from any of the major ports in France, which will take about 17 hours. We do suggest to make the journey part of the holiday and stop over night. Gerona is the nearest international Airport, about 45 minutes away. Barcelona, with the budget flights, is about 90 minutes drive from here. You will need a car to stay at the villa, since it is in a residencial area, about 2.5 kms from the centre of the village and 5 kms from the sea.

This is a lovely villa, well described in the details. The property was clean and very well equipped. The interior could do with a lick of paint, but having said that it was in good condition. the owner was excellent and welcoming. We enjoyed the area lots of lovely beaches to visit all along the coast. Salvadori Dali museum at Figures is well worth a vist. Barcelona is easy to reach by train.
We will probably be back. Would recommend to anybody who likes this area of Spain.
Owner's Response: We are always open to suggestions. These visitores stayed at Villa Immona right at the end of a very busy season, some of the interior has suffered a little. This will be remedied during the quiet winter months, and Villa Immona will be in absolutely perfect condition for next year. Our holidays at Villa Immona

We have stayed at this lovely, beautifully located house on two occasions. For 3 weeks in September 2003 and 2 weeks in June 2005.

When I realised after our most recent holiday that I could write a review the system determined that my contribution was being offered too long after the holiday to be accepted so in a somewhat dilatory fashion I got the hump and didn't bother.

Anyway that was an injustice to our hosts Imma and Frank who were spendid, welcoming, helpful and discreet who were never anything but kindness itself.

So bearing the time lag involved here is my tardy piece!

Location

On a peaceful residential estate.10 minutes easy drive from the beach, supermarkets and restaurants.

Property

All you will need with all mod cons. A welcoming pool fenced off and secure in case you have a worries about the little ones getting unsupervised access. Plenty of space, lovely gardens and if you can do so take your Sky digi box and card and plug in when you get there, it works and set up is a piece of cake

Getting there

First time we drove because we had plenty of time and it was a delight. We stopped off at various places in France out and back and the culinary pleasures experienced, not to mention the lovely scenery, added to the holiday.

2nd time, with elderly parents, we flew into Girona and picked up a hire car. Again getting to the property was easy and rapid.

The train into Barcelona for a day out was a real pleasure and the return fare for 4 people was about £40.
Locally the coast both North and South is a delight, beautiful coves and beaches and a abundance of eating houses to enjoy. Inland beautiful villages and the mountains a couple of hours away

Girona is lovely and well worth a visit

Plata d'Aro is brash and modern but plenty to see, buy and a great variety of food on offer.

There is just so much

We love this area and the only reason we haven't been back is that we have been exploring elsewhere. We always talk about going back and you know what that will be sooner rather and later.

Lovely, well equipped villa with gorgeous views

I was most impressed with this villa. Situated in a quite residential area, upon a hillside, this villa has a sense of homeliness as soon as you walk through the door. There is an abundance of personal effects in every room, inluding heirlooms and interesting old photos, which adds to the appeal. Every day I caught sight of something new I had no come across before. The villa is equipped with every item you could possibly need. Although I travelled alone, I noticed an assortment of children's toys, pool equipment and games that would be perfect for families.

The villa has two living areas, each with its own entertainment systems (TV/stereo). There is a huge range of books, mostly german, as well as a collection of records. The kitchen is well equipped and includes a dish washer. There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and a master bedroom upstairs with its own terrace and views to the sea, even from the comfort of your bed! The garden is beautifully designed and very well maintained. There are 4 terraces and depending upon the time of day, the sun shines on each of them. I particularly liked the front covered terrace overlooking the mountains. There is a pool, whcih given the time of year, I did not dare to venture in but had it been warmer, I would have.

The villa is well situated for beach lovers, culture vultures and hiking enthusiasts. There are some fantastic beaches a few miles down the road, whether you prefer dreamy little coves or top standard tourist style with facilities. Salvador Dali museums are within driving distance as are the medieval villages and towns of Girona, Pals, Peratallada, Palafrugell. The area is also wonderful for hikers, with a fantastic network of signposted trails covering the entire area. From exploring secluded coves to traversing mountain ridges, including via ferrata, the costa brava really is a hiker's heaven.

The hosts - Imma & Frank - are very welcoming and helpful. They ensure that their guests feel right at home and indeed the place did feel like so homely that I have already booked my next holiday there. Very impressed indeed!

Peaceful and relaxing.

We returned for a second visit over Christmas '08 having been here in '05. It was our children ranging in age from 17 to 7 who suggested we return.

The house is very relaxing and excellently equipped for a most comfortable stay. You are a little way from Calonge and a little further from the coast which suited us, everything is available in local supermarkets. Its a great base for touring the region from Barcelona to Perpignan in France, both are worth a visit. Some stunning scenery along the coast particularly wort a visit is Cadeques which has stunning scenery.

We will return and highly recomend.

Hosts Frank and Imma are most helpful if you need advice or assistance.

A lot of space

Really could recommend to families with children, a lot of space, many terraces, barbecue and also quite. Very beautiful view to the mountains. Actually this was more than we expected - you are always like in lottery when you rent from internet - but this time we won.
One confusing thing in advertising that sea view can be seen only from second floor terrace and it is not that worth as mountain view. Very kind and friendly hosts.
