Beautiful Villa near the Mediterranean

More than enough space for family stay in the villa, and a lot of space outside it. Place for two middle size cars inside the yard, and plenty of place on the street. Very quiet village, only villas are around. There is a good connection to main road, just downhill. Valvo, Suma, Aldi, Lidl supermarkets are within the distance of maximum 5-15 minutes driving, including opening and closing yard gates. Swimming pool is very attractive to use during day and under stars light. Nice view to hills and clear view to the sea side just from the bed through the window of sleeping room located at the second floor never bore. The big balcony attached to sleeping room on the second floor was really a surprise. Many small decorative elements inside the villa, and books, and photos and old style armchairs make a wonderful home atmosphere. There are many comfortable seats in the garden and at the terraces in an open sun or in the shadow depending on preferences. Kitchen is completely equipped. Everything was clean and in good conditions. Two existing TV with many channels actually are not needed, as so many interesting places are around (old tower, castle, small paths in hills, forest rivers, beaches). Car is strongly recommended to visit a lot of nice places nearby. Audio system and many old discs are in your disposal. Radio. Laundry and ironing facilities are in the garage, where a lot of space for luggage. We, me, my wife, and sure our dog, were very satisfied with stay at Villa Immona. The hosts are extremely welcome and ready to help in any time. Living in a villa neck-to-neck with Villa Immona, they were very delicate and never disturbed the rest. Gas heating system worked very fast. We very much acknowledge for good service and comfortable conditions in the villa.

We have stayed at this lovely, beautifully located house on two occasions. For 3 weeks in September 2003 and 2 weeks in June 2005.

When I realised after our most recent holiday that I could write a review the system determined that my contribution was being offered too long after the holiday to be accepted so in a somewhat dilatory fashion I got the hump and didn't bother.

Anyway that was an injustice to our hosts Imma and Frank who were spendid, welcoming, helpful and discreet who were never anything but kindness itself.

So bearing the time lag involved here is my tardy piece!

Location

On a peaceful residential estate.10 minutes easy drive from the beach, supermarkets and restaurants.

Property

All you will need with all mod cons. A welcoming pool fenced off and secure in case you have a worries about the little ones getting unsupervised access. Plenty of space, lovely gardens and if you can do so take your Sky digi box and card and plug in when you get there, it works and set up is a piece of cake

Getting there

First time we drove because we had plenty of time and it was a delight. We stopped off at various places in France out and back and the culinary pleasures experienced, not to mention the lovely scenery, added to the holiday.

2nd time, with elderly parents, we flew into Girona and picked up a hire car. Again getting to the property was easy and rapid.

The train into Barcelona for a day out was a real pleasure and the return fare for 4 people was about £40.
Locally the coast both North and South is a delight, beautiful coves and beaches and a abundance of eating houses to enjoy. Inland beautiful villages and the mountains a couple of hours away

Girona is lovely and well worth a visit

Plata d'Aro is brash and modern but plenty to see, buy and a great variety of food on offer.

There is just so much

We love this area and the only reason we haven't been back is that we have been exploring elsewhere. We always talk about going back and you know what that will be sooner rather and later.

I was most impressed with this villa. Situated in a quite residential area, upon a hillside, this villa has a sense of homeliness as soon as you walk through the door. There is an abundance of personal effects in every room, inluding heirlooms and interesting old photos, which adds to the appeal. Every day I caught sight of something new I had no come across before. The villa is equipped with every item you could possibly need. Although I travelled alone, I noticed an assortment of children's toys, pool equipment and games that would be perfect for families.

The villa has two living areas, each with its own entertainment systems (TV/stereo). There is a huge range of books, mostly german, as well as a collection of records. The kitchen is well equipped and includes a dish washer. There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and a master bedroom upstairs with its own terrace and views to the sea, even from the comfort of your bed! The garden is beautifully designed and very well maintained. There are 4 terraces and depending upon the time of day, the sun shines on each of them. I particularly liked the front covered terrace overlooking the mountains. There is a pool, whcih given the time of year, I did not dare to venture in but had it been warmer, I would have.

The villa is well situated for beach lovers, culture vultures and hiking enthusiasts. There are some fantastic beaches a few miles down the road, whether you prefer dreamy little coves or top standard tourist style with facilities. Salvador Dali museums are within driving distance as are the medieval villages and towns of Girona, Pals, Peratallada, Palafrugell. The area is also wonderful for hikers, with a fantastic network of signposted trails covering the entire area. From exploring secluded coves to traversing mountain ridges, including via ferrata, the costa brava really is a hiker's heaven.

The hosts - Imma & Frank - are very welcoming and helpful. They ensure that their guests feel right at home and indeed the place did feel like so homely that I have already booked my next holiday there. Very impressed indeed!
