Importantly, excellent roads make Calonge easily accessible, with Girona airport approximately 30 minutes drive from Villa Antoni where regular low cost airline flights provide a frequent and reliable service to the UK and Western Europe. Fast rail routes to the South; Barcelona, Madrid and the North; France are available from the fascinating historic university city of Girona. The area offers an abundance of activity and cultural pursuits to do both by car, public transport and on foot. For the sporty types it is paradise, boasting 7 championship golf courses and 4 par 3 golf courses within circa 30 mins drive, 2 local tennis clubs, horse riding, extensive mountain biking and hiking, coastal walks, sailing and fishing as well as windsurfing, water skiing and diving.

If you are after culture, the area is rich with it. There are amazing sites to be visited from the Catalonian historical villages with Roman and Greek archaeological sites and famous coastal gardens. The area is unforgettably steeped in the legacy of Salvadore Dali. For a day out Figueres (the home of Dali), as well as Girona and Barcelona (Gaudi) are all well worth visiting. Local fiestas are an added attraction; bringing top musicians and other artists - the villa is ideally situated to be able to enjoy a spectacular night vista which on occasion includes; firework displays and the lights of passing cruise ship! For the 'foodies' and wine buffs Catalunya has unique regional cuisine and outstanding wines including famous sparkling cavas, not to mention the delicious fresh seafood caught locally. Minutes from the Villa there is the opportunity to visit vineyards and partake in a session of tasting organic wines and eating locally grown seasonal fruit!

Golf Information:

As already highlighted - there are are a number of top golf courses in the area: seven 18 hole courses that are circa 30 minutes drive from the villa. Of these seven; two of them (Emporda and Pals) hosted the 2003 European qualifying school and an LPGA event. They vary from links to woodland and are all reasonably priced and in excellent condition If you are in need of some practice, then the facilities at Mas Nou, which is the nearest course are excellent. Handicap certificates are usually required. But, it is the reputable; beautiful weather that makes playing golf all year round such an enjoyment and attraction for those staying at Villa Antoni.
