Close to Home:
Casa Tramontana is situated on a rustic urbanisation of individual homes, the local Medieval village of Calonge a few minutes drive away offers a range of general shops, supermarkets and services and is renowned for its summer open air concerts in the castle grounds. The nearby town of Palamos has authentic welcoming tapas bars and is famous for it's fresh fish market and leisurely strolls along the sea front with plenty of fun areas for children and in season open air concerts or the local Sardanes regularly perform. In Palamos bay you can also hire windsurfers and pedalloes.
Further Afield:
All along the coastline are a variety of picturesque, sandy cove beaches and magnificent walks and trails. The villa is conveniently situated for daily excursions to Gerona, Barcelona and the South of France and also numerous renowned golf clubs, including the famous 18 hole at Mas Nou. Within 15 minutes drive to the south is the seaside town of Platja D'Aro which has a Water park in the main season close to the town. Here you can find long sandy beaches with a wide choice of cafe's and restaurants, designer shops and leisure activities including a children's amusement area and a bowling alley, as well as cinemas and discos. The area boasts some excellent restaurants, both close by or found within easy reach in the surrounding countryside and villages. The pretty towns of Palafrugell and Begur are 10-15km to the north; a little further is the pottery centre of La Bisbal. For the more adventurous walker (or skier), the Pyrenees are accessible in 2 hours.

We had a wonderful fortnight in the villa what a fantastic location! We were particularly impressed with the various sitting and eating terraces, my favourite is the round table in the barbecue area. We loved the lights in the evenings,CF Sale....
