Coast, beach and tourist attractions: Catalonia boasts many sites of architectural and historic interest, including the Greek and Roman ruins at Empuriabrava, Romanesque churches, medieval villages, the Dali museum at Figueres and Dali´s house at beautiful Cadaques. Of course no visit would be complete without a trip to Barcelona, the native city of the architect Gaudi. There are many fiestas and cultural events in the local area. The Costa Brava is one of the most attractive parts of the Spanish coastline, with rocky coves alternating with long sandy beaches. This area boasts many four and five star blue flag bathing beaches, as well as some of the most picturesque seaside resorts you will see anywhere in the Mediterranean, one of which is our nearest beach at Sant Antoni de Calonge (2km). The kids will adore our acres of golden sand and safe swimming (with coastguards permanently on hand), not to mention the huge water park in nearby Playa dÁro. The local council organises free activities for the kids in the summer

Shops and Restaurants: The Medieval village of Calonge, exactly 1.2km from the villa to it´s centre by road and 0.7km (0.42 of a mile) by 2 public walkway/footpaths, which is part of the 'Track Aventura' which snakes the nearby mountains and woodland. Calonge offers a range of shops, supermarkets & services, Calonge is also renowned for its summer open air concerts in the castle grounds. There are regular bus services to all the above destinations. We will supply you with the telephone numbers of the local taxi services. Platja dÁro (3km) has it all - fashion shops, souvenir shops and many Cafés and restaurants including a lively nightlife. Nearby Palamos (3km) is a charming Catalan port, with traditional restaurants, cafes, tapas bars and shops. There are plenty of al fresco eating in any of the lovely seaside towns and villages in the area and you can shop in bustling local markets, well stocked supermarkets or speciality stores.

Golf, biking and watersports: Within 45 minutes of the villa there are at least 9 golf courses. Club de Golf dÁro at Platja d´Aro - 10 mins, Golf Costa Brava at Santa Cristina - 20 mins, Golf de Pals - 20 min, Golf Serres de Plas - 25 min, 36 holes at Emporada Golf Club - 30 min, World Class PGA Catalunya, Golf Girona, Torremirona & Perlada - 45 min. There is a cycle hire shop just 5 min away and at Palamos you can also hire windsurfers and pedaloes.
