Casa Tranquila's unique setting gives the best of both worlds on a wooded hill in its own large grounds with stunning views of the Gavarres National forest and a restaurant 5 min walk away down a country lane . The beautiful Costa Brava coast and its many resorts. is a 10min drive away. The accommodation is the main part of the villa and is not overlooked and has 4 large bedrooms and 2 modern bathrooms and exclusive use of the large, private pool all on one level, Underneath the villa there is a small apartment which is let seperately ,This has its own entrance and garden and doesnt intrude on the privacy of the villa. long rentals from 380€ per week. There are shady terraces outside and inside dining areas and plenty of sunbeds. It is surrounded by fabulous mountain views and the walks and cycle paths start at you gate. 5 min walk down the country lane is a bar restaurant with tennis courts and play area.

Val Repos is just outside the tiny hamlet of Romanya and mid way between Santa Cristina and Calonge in the beautiful Gavarres national forest but only a 10-15 min drive from the resorts of Palamos, San Felieu de Guixoles and Playa D Aro. It is set in a wooded hillside with beautiful views. 5 min walk down a country lane to a bar restaurant with tennis courts and pool. Within a short drive of many golf courses. 30 min from Gerona airport and 90 from Barcelona. There is an hourly train to Barcelona from nearby Caldes de Malavella. The villa is surrounded by walks and there are numerous dolmens and wells.

Notes: The villa is in the Gaverres forest and surrounded by places of interest, woodland walks and bike paths. The local roads are very popular with cyclist. The pool is not overlooked and you can dine outdoors looking out at the mountains. The local beaches of which there are several vary from the long busy promenade at San Antonio to the beautiful curved Castell surrounded by pine forests and only overlooked by an iron age fort. The area is much favoured by spanish holiday makers which improves the quality of the restaurants but most of the shops have a little english and the local supermarket caters for all nationalities. Within a 15 min drive there is a great variety of things to do and see and the area is known for its good food. Beautiful Gerona is only 25min drive away and There is a regular train service to Barcelona from Caldes de Malvella. Nearby Palamos is a busy port and marina with boats for hire to explore the many small coves and many water sports and water park available

Nearby facilities: Calonge is 4 miles away and is a pretty little village with at least one of everything. There are two supermarkets here one of which stocks a good supply of foreign food. There is also a very helpful Tourist Office which has an English speaking assistant. Only 1mile from here is Sant Antoni beach and beautiful bay sweeping round to Palamos Port. Within a short drive there is everything from tiny fishing villages to the international resort of Playa D’Oro and its varied nightlife. There are many golf course in the area. There is a bar and restaurant only 5 min walk away with a pool, tennis courts , small playground and fountains.

Children: Children are very welcome at Casa Tranquila and they can safely explore the surrounding woods. We have several grandchildren and do our best to give everyone an enjoyable and safe holiday. If you have any queries just email or phone. We live in the area and are always available with help if needed.

A car is essential: The nearest airport is Gerona only 30 mins drive away and Ryanair has various flights to here. Barcelona which is served by nearly all the airports is between 80 to 90 minutes drive away on very good roads. Perpignan is 90 mins drive to the north. Again if you need any help just contact us.

Golf: The villa is within a short drive of 8 golf courses and we can arrange minibus or taxis if required. We have a local english enthusiast who can help you and, if you wish, accompany you and arrange a complete package to your requirements. If you want to do your own thing full golf details, contact numbers and directions including good restaurants, can be supplied.

Other Activities: Beautiful beaches, many great restaurants, golf courses, water park.Hourly trains to Barcelona

We had a fanatastic week in this villa. There was only two of us and this private, secluded villa provided a great base for a romantic holiday.
Brain and Pat were both very helpful and the restaurant they recommended in the nearby medieval town was outstanding.
I would recommend this property to friends. The pool was grreat and the villa contained everything you could want.

Long weekend with friends!

I stayed 4 nights with 6 friends to celebrate a milestone birthday. The house was more than comfortable with a fantastic pool area that is not overlooked. The setting is beautiful and sipping morning tea on the front terrace looking at the view was a wonderful way to wake up. Pat and Brian were extremely helpful especially with airport transfers for one of the party who couldn't make the whole trip meaning the champagne (ok cava) could continue to flow for the rest of us uninterrupted. Hoping to return for a longer stay next year!

We had a fabulous holiday in this villa, Pat and Brian were perfect hosts, they met and showed us around the villa and we felt at home straight away. The apartment was very clean and in good condition.. even a dishwasher.. a luxury we don't have at home! The villa is ideally located for long leisurely walks and adventurous bike rides and it is so peaceful and quiet to relax by the pool with a glass of sangria! We even managed the beach a few days too.. truly perfect.. the best of both worlds.. will definitely be going back next year!!

Excellent family get away and lovely Owners

We satyed at the VIlla this year and had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room for 4 Adults and 4 Kids under 11. The bedrooms were large enough for 2 people to sleep in them with wardrobes included. They are bigger than our small bedrooms back in the UK, so unless you come from a mansion then the rooms are a good size.

The villa was clean (the owners had 4hrs to get it ready for us), and they did a good cleaning job in limited time. We did not have any complaints whatsoever about the cleanliness. Bathrooms were a good size and we did not see any fungus. All in all, if you are looking for complete perfection then you should stay at home. Holiday homes can never really compare to your own house.

The owners lived under the villa, but they were no trouble at all. You only saw them when the pool required maintenance and when there were problerms you raised to them, oh if you also invited them for a drink, like we did and we enjoyed their company very much.

In reality it was very good to have the owners near by, because if there were any problems, wasp nests, fridge broken etc, they could act upon it immediatley. We have stayed in villas where you do not see anyone for 3 days until the pool is maintained or you have to call the travel company who then organise the maintenance which can take a couple of days.

One thing. You need a hire care for this Villa, do not come without one unless you are willing to stay put and hungry for your stay. If you want to reduce costs by having only one hire care between 8 people, take up the offer of a pick up from the owners (if available). You can find it difficult to find the villa if you do not know your way. Once settled it is easy to drive down to town and get supplies and find your way back.

Great Villa and pool in great rural setting

Recently spent a relaxing 5 days with friends in this lovely rural villa. It has a lovely well maintained pool which is of excellent size along with outside areas with sun loungers and dining area.

The villa has 4 good sized bedrooms and large living area all maintained to a very high standard.

The children all had a wonderful time in the pool and enjoying exploring the gardens.

We would like to thank Pat and Brian for being such fantastic people to rent the villa from, we had a fantastic few days there and wished it could have been longer.

The villa is a great place to relax in yet only a few minutes to any amenities you want, would highly recommend the Villa.
