Marina del Este is 1 hour east of Malaga and 1hr 15 mins south of Granada both towns have int. airports. There are inexpensive bus services to La Herradura from both airports changing in Malaga and Granada respectively. A taxi prebooked from La Herradura will cost about 65 Euros. The marina nestles in a cove at the foot of the mountains. The marina and the adjoining bay of La Herradura offer beaches, restaurants and shops all set in traditional Spanish village surroundings (0.75-1.75 km). The neighbouring town of Almunecar is 4 Km away and provides good shopping, a weekly Friday market and a seasonal water park. We would recommend a hire car for airport transfers, shopping trips, visits to caves, mountains, waterfalls, Water Park etc. The better known town of Nerja is 12 km away with its famous caves. Granada, Alhambra Palace and the Sierra Nevada ski resort are an hour away.
