This stylish apartment in a small Spanish town is literally 2 min walk from the quiet beach. The property gives an opportunity to stay amongst the local community in a traditional pueblo and have a truly Spanish experience. With its Spanish feel, marble floors and wooden shutters, the spacious house has a Moroccan twist with decorative arches and lanterns throughout, luxury bedlinen and fabulous ambience. The fully furnished lounge/dining room also includes TV, DVD and CD player, and has a log wood burner in case of chilly evenings in the short winter. Two double doors from the lounge, and one from a double bedroom open onto the balcony, and the large orangetree terrace has seating and BBQ area for alfresco eating, with all day sun. Evenings can be spent trying out the local tapas bars and restaurants, all within easy walking distance.

If relaxing is your thing, this small town and quiet beaches are a complete get away. The clean protected waters prohibits wild and noisy sea activities. This wonderful, greatly undisturbed area of Adalucia has many fascinating places to explore. There are many national park areas - the closest is Maro-Cerro Gordo the headland to the west of the bay and beyond. Peppered with small bays and tiny rock pools and coves, park your car at the top and scramble down the tiny paths and spend the day relaxing or snorkelling. Many of the beaches have a good bar/restaurant, some beaches are natural/naturist- take a picnic and unwind. One of the amazing things about this area is that you can be scuba diving one day, skiing or exploring caves the next, taking in a round of golf, or discovering the terrain on horseback for a full on activity holiday! Under 1 hr for transfers. Fabulous Granada, Sierra Nervada and the Alpuharras, are central to many day visits, alternatively Morrocco is only 4hrs away.

Parking: Although the apartment is located in the old town, (small cobbled streets - no cars), it is possible to unload very close by. Parking spaces can be found all around the town, you are never really too far away from the apartment.

Activities: Many activities are available, locally the mountains surrounding the bay are highly sort after for paragliding, (according to many the best in the world)! There are some beautiful mountain walks through rosemary and thyme, and some more demanding very local 1.5m and 1.8m hills with stunning views. The protected sea has alot of scuba activity with many schools locally. The skiing (approx 1.5hour drive) in the Sierra Nervada has a long season. On the beach: windsurfing, canoes, pedloes (you have more variety in August), but generally quiet sea activities that do not spoil the ambiance - definitely no bananas!! Golf is everywhere in Spain - nearest is at Nerja. Bike hire, Horse riding and boat charter. Lots of places to visit - I have a book in the apartment with many other ideas and information for the above.

This is an attractive house right in the middle of Le Herradura. It's features are a wonderful roof terrace, which gets the sun all day long; &, if there in the winter, it also boasts an efficient wood burning stove to keep you warm after sunset.
It is only a short walk for breakfast bread, or for shopping, but you cannot get the car to the door as the house is in that charming 'old part' of town of narrow alleyways. No shortage of parking within 2 mins' in winter.There is no bath, but a good modern shower.
The town itself is genuine-: ie not just a recent holiday complex, & you are in the market, or shopping generally with the resident local population.
Even in winter there is plenty of choice over eating places. We were there for a sunny fortnight in Jan' & neverr ate more than twice in the same place.
The coastline is spectacular with high cliffs towering above tiny unspolt little coves.
All in all we would highly recommend it -- nor could you find a more congenial landlady !

Owner's Response: Its always lovely to have such nice guests in the apartment, and always useful to have geniuine feed back. Just to add...the apartment sits at the bottom of the old town (so no giant climb back home), and drop off for lugguge and shopping is very very close by. The car will then as mentioned in the review, have to be parked elsewhere - but rarely as pointed out, more than a few mins away. The shops and beach are then easily reached by foot - all again within 2 mins!!
Although there is no bath, the shower has a very good power and If a bath is necessary.... I do have another apartment with bath and shower. Contact me for more details.

A lovely, traditional appartment in centre of lovely village. The decor is lovely with Morocan arches and light shades. The bed was so comfy I slept for 12 hours most nights! There was some street noise as Spanish people are very noisy but not enough to bother me at all and it's nice to know you're in the middle of Spanish life! Cheap tapas bars and restaurants just around the corner and Melanie is fantastic! She was very helpful and advised on loads of nice places to go!
