Motril is a traditional Spanish sea-side town, with beautiful wide beaches, a 3km long beach front promenade, which has many beach restaurants. The town has an excellent hypermarket, many varied shops and restaurants. As Motril has a large fishing Port, the fish restaurants are outstanding. Just 1km to the West is the ancient town of Salobreña. It has a castle and many interesting historic monuments in the old quarter of the town. Some wonderful wide sandy beaches, many beach front restaurants. This area is known as the Costa Tropical and is famous for its fruit growing. Mangos, bananas and many other tropical fruits are grown here. The Costa Tropical has its own micro climate and even in January you can expect temperatures of 18 - 20 ºC. Making it the perfect destination for a holiday at any time of the year. Located just 40 minutes from Granada and 55 minutes from Malaga airports, very good motorway connections from both airports.
