A Good Location
Review Submitted: July 5, 2009

The property mainly fitted the description in the advertisement. The house was clean but the sitting room rug could have done with a vacuum/shampoo. The interior furniture, eg, couches with throws, beds, single wardrobes, could have been smarter and the outdoor umberella had definately seen better days and so was very difficult to use. Sun beds as opposed to reclining sun chairs would have been more useful. Other than this, the house was well placed, with easy access to beach, shops restaurants/cafes and public transport. The only downside to the central location was the constant noise from traffic at all hours and the building works going on in three locations surrounding the house during the day.
Owner's Response: We were surprised to read some of these comments as we have always striven to provide a comfortable, well-equipped, good value for money place to stay - in fact, in the winter, we stay there ourselves, so we think the standard is good, and usually receive positive confirmation of this. We shampooed the rug before leaving end of april, and the person cleaning the house always vacuums before each guest. However, we will replace the rug on our next visit. We are aware that the larger umbrella needs a part (which we've been trying to replace) but the other one was working perfectly ok before we left, and I've asked for it to be checked, and replaced if necessary. Sorry to hear this person did not like our taste in furnishings! Throws, covers etc, are plain, practical and clean, also our own taste. We did have sun beds, which were broken, there are reclinable sun chairs, but we take the point, and again, will replace the sun beds on our next visit. As stated, the location is excellent, well-placed centrally for the beach, shops, bars, restaurants and local transport - it is also a Spanish working village as well as a holiday resort, so there will be some noise from traffic. One could be staying outside the village in a quiter location (though this not guranteed) but have to use the car each time to go to eat or shop or go on the beach - there are pros and cons for each kind of location, and it is fun being in the village, with such nice, friendly people around, and always something interesting going on, and everything within walking distance.
There is building work going on down the road (this is Spain!) but I can honestly say this didn't bother us when we stayed there for three months - and naturally, it will come to an end. We have taken on board all the comments, and will do what we can to ensure future guests will enjoy their stay just as much as other people have.
