Ideal base if you are a golf enthusiast and wish to play at any of the golf courses in the area, Desert Springs, Valle Este, Marina de la Torre, Cortijo Grande Other local activities include tennis, squash, walking, horse riding, bowls, flying, swimming, scuba diving, fishing, and sailing. For more leisurely pastimes try strolling around street markets, walking along the beach or through cobbled alleys and courtyards amongst the picturesque clusters of whitewashed houses in romantic old Mojacar village, lunch in a welcoming taverna, or spend an afternoon lazing in the sun. The Beach bars along Mojacar Playa are a nice place to sit and enjoy the sun, sand and sea - and listen to live music, Jazz etc.

There is an AQUA PARK at Vera easily accessed by local bus or car approx 15 minutes away. Granada with its impressive Alhambra Palace is approx 2 hours away by car. Mini Hollywood/Texas, Hollywood where many ‘spaghetti westerns’ and Lawrence of Arabia were filmed, is approx one hour by car.
Airports Almeria Airport is approx 45 minutes away by car. Murcia is approx two hours away by car. Alicante is 2 hours away by car. Car hire is relatively inexpensive and can easily be booked via the Internet.
General:
Turre is situated on the south-east coast of Spain in the Andalucia region between Almeria and Murcia. An excellent motorway system joins both cities. Turre enjoys about 350 days of sunshine a year and a very dry climate. In the summer temperatures can rise to 35º. For those who like it very hot July and August are the months to go with an average of about 32º+/- (Night-time temperatures average 22 deg.) Being very dry it is wonderful for those with and aches and pains. Also the lack of air pollution makes it a haven for asthma sufferers.
