The beach is a five minute walk away and has a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Wind surfing and water sports available on the beach. For those not wishing to drive there is a good bus service which goes all along the seafront, to the old village of Mojacar and the nearby fishing port of Garrucha

The apartment is fully equipped and very comfortable, ideal for the stay by the pool brigade or the more intrepid explorer. Satellite TV. Mojacar is situated in the South East corner of Spain, the sunniest part of Europe, surrounded by the foothills of the Sierra Nevada on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The landscape is spectacular with grand vistas of mountain and plain and at the same time many intimate valleys, coves and beaches. The city and airport of Almeria are an hour to the south and the international airport and city of Alicante 2hours drive north on near empty motorways. The world renowned city of Granada and the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada can be reached in an easy three hours on excellent roads.

Mojacar village is an oasis of tranquillity. Flower bedecked white houses in narrow streets full of character and surprises. Still retaining the style of its Moorish past it is nonetheless typically Spanish with at the same time a wonderfully cosmopolitan atmosphere as evidenced by the many and varied restaurants and bars. There are several interesting 'fiestas' throughout the year. The Three Kings in January,the Day of Andalucia in Feb,Easter the biggest of all in March/April, San Isidro, the workers saint in May, the spectacular 3 day Moors and Christians in June, and the five day village fiesta in August. September is quiet, then there is the day celebrating the connections with the New World in October and the Day of the Dead in November rounding off with a long break 6th-8th Dec mostly used for shopping or visiting family before the rigors of Christmas and the New year.

There are wonderful outdoor markets in Mojacar and the adjacent villages such as Garrucha, Turre and Cuevas, where you can treat yourself to a mouthwatering selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and fish. If you would rather someone else did the work there is an endless variety of restaurants both Spanish and other nationalities, from the most humble workers tapas bar to haute cuisine. You can visit the medieval castle, cave houses and silvermines in Cuevas; the fascinating underground caves with their fabulous stalagtites and stalagmites in Sorbas;old filmsets like Mini hollywood in Tabernas and a host of other distractions in the surrounding area.
