Set in the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera, with 17 kilometers of beach, it is steeped in Moorish and Spanish history. It offers a list of options both to the active and to the more retiring. It's coastline hills provide a rugged natural and stunningly beautiful backdrop to it's unspoilt coastline. Set away from the hills and plains are marine and other national parks, golf courses at Desert Springs (the only desert course in Europe), Valle de Este, Marina de Golf, Macenas both near the beach at Mojacar. Granada and the Sierra Nevada with both it's historic Moorish ,Ahambra and the most southerly ski resort in Europe - a mere 2 hours drive from the sunny coast, ski one and soak up the sun on the other all in the one day.
