The perfect location and accommodation

Arriving at the apartment complex in Mojacar (very easy to locate thanks to the extremely helpful directions from the owner) we were delighted to see that the accommodation was just as described. The apartment is spacious with all the modern conveniences that you could wish for including a fully-fitted kitchen with all the necessary appliances, two bathrooms and audio-visual equipment in the lounge. Even sun loungers had been thoughtfully provided and we made good use of both the large balcony and the roof terrace. It was a home from home with first class facilities - in fact it was cleaner than my own home!
Books, DVDs and board games were provided for those days when we didn't feel like venturing too far from the apartment and the two communal pools were only a one-minute walk from our front door and we had them to ourselves for most of the time. The local shopping arcade is only a five minute walk and the golf course is closer still.
It's ideally located, within an hour from the airport and right on the coast which is completely unspoilt. We often walked to the Commercial Centre where we caught the bus to Old Mojacar and other locations up in the mountains and along the seaboard. There is a folder in the apartment with suggested activities, which was very helpful and which we made full use of during our two-week stay.
Our favourite trips were to Oasys Mini Hollywood (we particularly enjoyed the huge zoo) and to Neptune Beach Club for one of the best meals we have ever eaten (washed down with their very own wine!) which was a short walk along the beach. There's plenty to do in the area and we are already planning our second trip because there are activities outstanding that we just didn't have time to do!
Also huge thanks to the owner who was very accommodating and friendly - the whole process was straightforward and stress-free - which helped to make the holiday that much more enjoyable as we didn't have to worry about anything at all. Knowing that we also had English-speaking assistance to call upon whilst out there also added to our peace of mind and is a service that not many other people offer.
All in all we had a wonderful time in Mojacar and really enjoyed ourselves. In addition to making plans for our next holiday, we are considering flying over there for a long weekend as it's so close and the perfect antidote to the less-than-perfect UK climate!
We would thoroughly recommend this holiday apartment - 5 stars.
