Leisure Activities:
For those looking for an active holiday there is much to do. Along the 7km of well kept beaches (consistently earning European Blue Flag awards for cleanliness) there is a full range of water sports including jet ski-ing, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, scuba-diving and snorkelling. Other activities include quad bike hire, kite flying, horse-riding, tennis, microlite and ultralite flights.
Should you need time to relax, it is very easy to find an isolated space along the beach to read, soak up the sun or simply count the waves!
A fun family day can be enjoyed in the beautiful surrounds of the Aqua-Park approx. 10 mins away in the district of Vera.
Should you need some retail therapy the Parque Comercial is a modern shopping precinct at the roundabout leading to Mojacar Pueblo. The nearby towns and villages also have a variety of interesting shops.
There is a local market every day of the week in one of the towns/villages in the surrounding area.
Sight-seeing/ Eating Out:
The best way to see the typical ancient white village of Mojacar, is to leave the car behind and walk to appreciate the medieval Arab architecture.
From Mojacar in whatever direction you travel there are picturesque towns and villages to be explored- Bedar, Turre, Antas and the town of Vera which is steeped in tradition and history, to name but a few.
The Cuevas de Sorbas are well worth a visit and there are private guided tours to suit everyone.
The desert like landscape around Tabernas is famous for filming many westerns. Tours are available. In the nearby fishing village of Garrucha you can buy fresh fish daily, direct from the fishermen who return to port at sundown.

Golfers are spoiled for choice in Mojacar. Nearest to the villa, is the 18 hole Palace Golf Course (Par 72 546m)-a course of two halves. The first nine holes are flat and close to the beach the remaining holes are situated to the other side of a small hill with different scenery & some spectacular tees. The clubhouse with pro shop, restaurant, driving range & golf school is just 3 minutes walk from the house. Golf Clubs, Trollies and Buggies are available for rent. A valid handicap certificate is required.
Desert Springs is the first desert course build in Europe and provides a totally different aspect to golf in this part of Spain. The 18 hole, Par 72/546m course is located between Villaricos and the Caves of Almanzora and approx 20 minutes drive. Highly recommended.
Valle de Este, the second desert course of the area is another 'must play' course Par 71/539m. Cortijo Grande-a 9 hole par 36 course, situated about 8km away is set among lemon, orange & olive tree plantations.
