Mojacar Area:
Mojacar pueblo, a dazzling pile of cube shaped houses scattered on a rocky hilltop, a long beach dotted with palms in the most arid part of South East Spain with the most hours of sunshine each year. Mojacar is a chic and successful holiday resort which has retained its charm despite inevitable expansion to cater for its new visitors. The water is exceptionally clear and a good range of watersports is available including diving and fishing. The region is well worth exploring. There is some spectacular scenery and if you venture inland you will discover many small villages. This is the 'real Spain'
Activities:
One of the most enjoyable things to do ~ take a mini cruise along the rugged, unspoilt coast. Daily excursions from Garrucha, 5 minutes along coast road. Further along the coast ~ Vera where you will find the Water Park ~ many rides, wave pool & children's area. When the family have tired of the beach why not have a quick round of mini-golf, take them horse riding or go for an exciting afternoon of go-karting. Local holiday seafront complex, nightly family show at 9pm. The local tourist office on the beach has a list of all the local attractions geared towards children. Activities on the beach include banana boats, surfing, diving. For golfers there is the new Deserts Springs golf club only 15 mins and other golf courses along the coast. Fun Family day trip ~ Mini-Hollywood, Tabernas Desert 1 hour, Spaghetti Western 'shoot out' and dressing up in Western clothes for a family photograph. Mojacar Playa - Funky Monkeys Childrens Activity Centre, workshops, dancing & cinema evenings.
Food and Drink:
There are numerous bars and restaurants along the beach road from Casa Los Molineros & tucked away in the mountains & also in Mojacar village. There is an information file in the villa with all the details inside. The restaurants cater for every taste and price range. You could have a gourmet meal, or fish and chips on Friday and a roast dinner on Sunday. Nearly all the bars sell snacks throughout the day. There are several beach bars, some karaoke bars, bars with quiz nights, sports bars, internet cafes and a few disco bars that stay open till the early hours. The bars and restaurants welcome everyone including children. The Spanish are a very family oriented race and you would not be made to feel uncomfortable going into a restaurant at 10.00 at night with small children - it's perfectly normal to the Spanish! Everyone is welcome.
