Coast & Beach: The nearest beach is Vera Playa which is a five minute drive away. Vera beach is a large beach which stretches for miles and miles. Our recommendation would be to drive to Mojacar which is ten to fifteen minutes by car, here you can find plenty of restaurants, beach bars and is more lively without being overcrowded.
Local Amenities: The nearest supermarket is Mercadona which is newly built and is fantastically popular amongst the locals and the British. Very clean, with all fresh produce available especially fresh fish and wine at superb value, Mercadona is a ten minute walk from the villa literally round the corner. Most other banks, restaurants and shops can be found in Vera with Garrucha being the most popular for shops. We can recommend the Argentenian Steak Grill in Vera, and 'The Shamrock' in Mojacar for eating out with many other restaurants to choose from. For people holidaying with children there is a water park open in high season just outside of Vera, there is a play area for younger children next to the villa complex with a larger play area available in Vera which is very popular amongst locals of an early evening.
Travel: Car hire for this holiday is essential, we recommend that you fly to Almeria Airport (LEI) the nearest of the Spanish Airports to Vera. The transfer time from Almeria Airport to Vera is approximately 45 mins, along a very easy to follow route. Our family have used various car hire company's in the past, we recommend you pre-book your car hire after receiving confirmation of your flight details. The easiest way of pre-booking car hire is on the internet.
