2 bed holiday rental villa in beautiful country location set in mature gardens only 5 min drive from Vera town. The Villa has an ideal location whether you want a base for exploring the Cabo de Gata, Mojacar and the coast or the mountains. You can also choose to unwind by the pool or make a day trip to the Alhambra in Granada. The spacious Villa is well equipped and has proved very popular with lots of people making return and annual visits during the 4 years we have offered it for rent, visit the guest page on our web site for loads of endorsements. Finca Arboleda offers the Villa and a 1 bedroom apartment which have use of a 10 x 5 Metre pool. The garden has a hundred Olive and fruit trees and you are welcome to pick Oranges, Figs and Plums when they are in season. For the energetic we have 2 Mountain bikes that you welcome to use to explore the area, it is also an interesting area for walking, bird watchers will see Birds of Prey, Bee Eaters and Hoopoes are regular visitors.

Finca Arboleda where the Old Stables Villa is located is only 5 mins from Vera which is a busy, charming small town with a large market on Saturdays. It has bars, supermarkets, shops and banks. The beach is only 10 mins away and the coastline has quiet coves and busier beaches. The Cabo de Gata natural park is about 30 mins away, it has beautiful beaches with great diving and interesting wildlife and plants. Mojacar is about 20 mins away and its hillside old town is well worth a visit. Garrucha is 15 mins away and it is a working fishing port as well as a busy tourist resort with wonderful seafood restaurants. Inland there are numerous mountain villages to explore and do walks from.

Notes: The accommodation is gated and fenced so parking is secure. The pool is only used by the owners, the Villa and the apartment so there is normally time for a quiet swim if required.

Golf: There are 4 golf courses within a 15/20 min drive making it the ideal base for a golfing break. The closest, 5 mins away, is the Valle del Este course which is an 18 hole par 71 course with fitness club on site. The Marina de la Torre is a par 72, 18 hole course split into two nine holes on either side of a hill, one overlooking the sea in Mojacar and the other overlooking the valley. A restaurant bar and golf shop are also on site. The best is the unique championship course of Desert Springs, near Cuevas. It is an 18-hole par 72 course with superb views. Desert Springs has a restaurant, bar and driving range and is worth a visit even if you do not play. The fourth is the 9-hole Cortijo Grande which can be played as 18 holes with dual tees for all holes. This is an established course situated in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Cabrerra Mountains. All have the usual course facilities.

Coast and beaches: The closest beach is Puerto Rey which is less than 10 mins drive from Vera town. It is very large and deserted for most of the year. There are literally dozens of other beaches along the coastline and they offer something for everyone from Mojacar with its English facilities and water sports and Vera beach with its Aqua park to numerous quiet sandy coves. The Cabo de Gata has fantastic unspoilt beaches with clear water, caves and great snorkelling, we can help you with maps and a guide book.

This was our second fabulous visit to Mike and Pirrko (and soppy old Stig - the dog). We have found the 'Old Stables' villa extremely comfortable and it has everything you could possibly need from books,games and DVD's to a cool box with ice packs. There are now even towels to use at the poolside! The villa is very well equipped and is extremely well cared for. The villa has always been spotlessly clean when we arrive. Although the pool, which is beautiful, is described as having a "salt walter cleaning system", the salt is barely noticeable and it's as good as swimming in fresh water. The trees and grounds surrounding the villa and pool are lovely.
Every afternoon Cath and I would visit the pool, have a dip to cool off, pick a couple of figs from the trees and just laze around. What a brilliant place to relax and chill out.
The property sits in a very tranquil, rural area just outside Vera town centre. Unless you are planning to spend all the time at the villa/pool, a car is essential. There are numerous quaint villages, small towns, caves, film sets and other interesting places to visit, all within an easy drive from Vera. In and around Vera there are loads of good restaurants and bars catering for most tastes and budgets, also an Intermarche supermarket for your day to day items.
Mike and Pirrko will do anything in their power to ensure you have the best possible time.
This holiday property is a real find and I should really keep it to myself. I don't think we have ever stayed anywhere so relaxing and with such very helpful and friendly hosts.
Cath and I will definitely be returning again. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mike and Pirrko for yet another brilliant holiday and to wish them every success in the future . . . they deserve it! If only all holiday lets were like this. . . . .!

We have had two wonderful holidays here. As soon as arriving we were felt welcome and given lots of information and everything in the house of very good quality. We had all the amenities we wanted. Vera town is easy to get to and there are good supermarkets and friendly people, especially if you try out your Spanish! The roads are good and lots of interesting places are easily accessible. We even went to Granada from Vera by bus and spent a night away. Despite the easy access to roads and other places, the Finca is in a quiet, country area and wonderful evenings were spent sitting outside with a bottle of wine watching the birds and enjoyjng the peace.
The hosts are great, friendly, helpful but non-intrusive. We thoroughly recommend this place for a holiday.
Recommended for:  Families with Young Children, Age 55+, Sightseeing
Owner's Response: Thanks A & P for your comments, we know from other guests that they enjoy the peaceful evenings sitting outside the Old Stables. As well as the Birds, Bats, Tortoises, Hedgehogs and Rabbits are also frequent visitors (after an extra glass I've also seen Pink Elephants!)
Our aim is to be helpful and friendly without being to invasive so it sounds like we've managed it. We hope to see you again one day.
