You can spend time playing golf at the local Gary Player designed 27 hole golf course, or try out the other three courses that are situated nearby.
Other activities include scuba diving, boating and swimming or simply sunbathing on the beach.
There are also many excellent restaurants and cafes around the harbour, plus a large supermarket with fantastic fish counter. Within a 10 minute drive you will find a shopping mall as well as a top quality hospital.
Just a short drive along the coast are the coastal towns of Roquetas de Mar and Aquaduce. Both of these towns retain a great deal of Spanish culture and tradition. They also provide additional opportunities for shopping and eating out. The provincial city of Almeria is the European city with the most hours of sunshine in the year (around 3000 hours) and the average annual temperature is 18-19 C.
Travelling from the UK:
There are regular flights to local Almeria airport from both Gatwick and Birmingham. Tarleton Travel is helpful and offers good value (please ask us for web address).
Car hire is available at the airport.
