The Beach resort is nestled between the turquoise waters of the Alboran Sea, landscaped by majestic 12000 ft mountains. El Toyo, Retamar is sun bathed 320 days a year. It enjoys the driest warmest climate in all of Europe. Adjacent is the Cabo de Gata natural park, with unspoiled pristine beaches. The resort is located 7 kilometres from Almeria Airport and 10 Kilometres from Almeria Town. A historical Andalucian town dominated by the Alcazabar, a striking 10th Century Moorish Fortress. Outside of the Almedina (old town) is a lively modern seaside city, with daily ferry service to Mellia and Morocco. It is a shoppers paradise bursting with nightlife, side street cafes and Tapas Bars. There are many fun days out for families within a short drive including San Jose, Mini Hollywood (home of the spagetti westerns) and for the more adventurous skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
