Golf the Costa de la Luz:
The area around Jerez de la Fronter has a number of exciting golf-courses, where you can play all year. The most fantastic is probably the 18-holer at Hotel Montecastillo, but there are also many other. Please ask us for information and help to organize green fee and other details.
The capitol of sherry and flamenco:
Most of the sherry-bodegas in Jerez de la Frontera (and in Puerto De Santa Maria and San Lucar de Barrameda) are open to visitors. Here they will explain the special solera-system for producing sherry and learn about the various sherry-types. At the end you are invited to taste what you have just seen and purchase samples which can be enjoyed in the patio of Casa Jerezana.
Another important part of the fame of Jerez de la Frontera is flamenco. The flamenco festival is in February/March, but there are also a lot of flamenco going on in August and in September and October, during La Feria del Otoño. Ask us and we will give you more information about Flamenco and Jerez, especially about the Peñas, where you can watch the real and undiluted flamenco for free together with the enthusiastic locals.
Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre:
The royal Andalucian school of Equestre is a sight to see. They have performances twice a week during the summer (Tuesday and Thursday) and once every week (Thursday) during the winter. Here you can see what they have taught the specially bred and world famous Andalucian horses to do. (Have you, for an example, seen a fully grown horse jump or walk on his hind legs?) On the days without performances you can see them train the horses and visit the stables. We will help you to get tickets to the shows, which are very often sold out, even in the middle of the winter.
In Jerez de la Frontera you can also visit the museum of clocks, the museum of archeology, the Moorish fortress Al Cazar with its Camera Obscura and the zoological garden with is white tiger.
