You are looking for a calm and peaceful place in order to experience individual and unforgettable holidays? You also want suitable comfort and the town centre with its facilities within 15 minutes walking distance? The historical Cortijo El Tejar Siete Olivos can satisfy your demands: Tranquilly located within a nature park, in touch with the sea, with overwhelming views of the North Moroccan coastline (14km distance) and direct access to a small rocky-sandy beach (70m), the property accommodates 2 individual enchanting rural houses in the very south of Continental Europe. Both safe and private country houses - CASA DEL ALFARERO and CASA MAR - are restored in an excellent manner, sensitively but consequently modernised, tastefully furnished and lovingly decorated. Modern kitchens and shower rooms. Although the whole property enjoys magnificent views of the Straits of Gibraltar, both houses have also their private places with sea view.

Elegant country house, situated at seaside. A very large room being divided into an enchanting living and dining part with open fire place and a comfortable sleeping area (twins, can be combined) with typical Andalusian wardrobe. Satellite TV and radio/audio tape player. A small selection of novels is provided. Modern ensuite shower room with built in cupboard and small but well equipped lovely fitted wooden kitchen with hob (4 rings), large fridge and freezer. The farmhouse enjoys a very agreeable atmosphere due to the rustic ceilings and antique chandeliers, clay floor tiles, solid furniture, sofas and armchairs around the fire place. A private terrace overlooking the Straits of Gibraltar and a small shady woodland belong to Casa Mar. Recommended also for long time lets, also in wintertime.

Tarifa, facing the Northern coast of Africa, surrounded by nature parks, to the west the magnificent white beaches, is a very versatile town where you will find everything in the numerous interesting shops, bars and restaurants. Market hall, supermarkets, banks, medical centre. Spanish language, guitar, flamenco classes. Wherever you go in the ancient town centre you feel the predominant Moorish history and the centuries of the 'Reconquista'. Prehistoric residuals and signs of the Phoenician and Roman civilisations. Starting point for many excursions into the cultural and historical heritage of Western Andalusia and into the spectacular Sierra de Ronda and Sierra de Grazalema (hill top white villages) and the famous Coto Donana. Broad choice of sporting activities. Dolphin and whale watches by boat. Bird migration between Europe and Africa are to observe from the property. Ferries to Tangier several times daily (1-3 days guided tours to Northern Morocco and its picturesque markets)

A large but intimate and partly shady yard with some old olive trees is extended between Casa Alfarero, Casa Mar and a group of picturesque store cottages where you can play games or have fine barbecues.

Directly from the property start exciting hiking paths into the natural park area and along the wild, still virgin coast 'at your doorstep'.

You can also explore the huge unspoilt property: look for the most hidden places and the best view points. Observe the shipping on the Straits and the small hilly Moroccan villages in front of you. Experience the majestic, magic Djebel Mousa as it appears and vanishes... and appears in different forms and colours. Experience nature's fascinating always changing sceneries between two seas and two continents. Listen to the hundred twittering birds, the chirping crickets and the passing ship's foghorn ...Or dream of the Columns of Hercules... Or only relax and regenerate at this idyllic peaceful place: The stars seem to be much closer than everywhere else.

A Green Oasis In Tarifa

A very special place overlooking the strait of Gibraltar and the Maroccan mountains on its other side, which is taken care of very well by its friendly owners. The garden and its terraces are great for just hanging out and relaxing, the surrounding nature invites to have long walks on the coastal hiking path along the cliffs. The house itself shows the good taste of its owners and is very spacious and comfy, kept in a very good and clean condition, and has natural air-conditioning due to its traditional construction. All electricity is generated in an environment-friendly way by a windmill.

We decided not to rent a car, not to travel around too much and rather discover the surroundings of our home for two weeks by foot. The ten minute walk to Tarifa centre was very pittoresque and a very small price to pay for being away from the busy tourist life in the city centre in such a short time. We could not find a single place in Tarifa that we would have preferred to stay in over the casa mar. And definitely none that lets you watch dolphines swimming from its garden.

All in all, a perfect place for a relaxing holiday in touch with nature.

P.S.: Although there is a well equipped kitchen in the house, we only used it to prepare breakfast and make coffee, as Tarifa has some of the best restaurants I've ever eaten in ;)
