Modern very spacious high quality ground floor apartment in the superior development of Valgrande. Flights to Gib (15mins) or Malaga (60mins).The apartment is fully furnished to a high specification and has a/c & c/h throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped and the living room & master bedroom have sliding doors onto the terrace which overlooks ancient cork groves. There is a spectacular communal swimming pool which cascades down to the maturely planted gardens with plenty of sun lounger’s on the surrounding lawns. Valgrande is located opposite the prestigious Valderrama golf course in the heart of Sotogrande. The port, shops, beach, tennis courts, restaurants and 5 golf courses are all within 10 minutes drive of the apartment. In addition there is a SPA which provides a 60ft. indoor heated pool to relax, plunge pool, Jacuzzi, gym, Turkish bath, solarium, practice bunker and putting green(unfortunately children under 7 are not allowed). Morocco is an easy day excursion as is Tariffa.

Valgrande is situated opposite the championship golf course of Valderama. Set in its own grounds with security barrier entry. There is a community infinity swimming pool shared between approx 20 apartments, with a life guard on duty during the summer months. Valgrande has many local villages in the vicinity with numerous popular 'ventas' and restaurants. Sotogrande is situated an hour's drive south of Malaga, 20 minutes away from Gibraltar and about 90 mins from Jerez. It is a beautifully landscaped resort with wide tree lined avenues, set on the coast adjacent to a river estuary with a superb marina. It is totally unlike the rest of the 'costas' and is designed to be a tranquil yet provides everything for the perfect holiday from sailing, to golf. Easyjet flights from most airports to Malaga and BA and Monarch fly to Gibraltar. (Please see the end of the advert for pool opening times as this is a Spanish legal requirement.)

  • Please note that weekly rental rates run from 5.00 pm Sat to 10.00 am the following Saturday. Thus guests renting on a weekly basis must vacate the apartment by 10.00 am Saturday and will not have access to the apartment until 5.00 pm, unless by prior arrangement. We have a cleaner who comes once a week on a Saturday. If you require more cleaning or laundry services then you can arrange this with the lady at extra cost.
  • Refundable deposit of £300 required to secure the booking and held in addition to the rent against damage and any costs incurred. Bookings are secured when full payment has been received.

Notes: Weekly maid service, weekly linen change. More regular cleaning is possible and must be prearranged and paid for separately. There is an indoor pool and SPA and this is included in the rental. This provides an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, Plunge pool, gym, Turkish bath, solarium, and indoor golf practice net. Outside there is a putting green and pitching bunker. Unfortunately the Valgrande community have stipulated that children under 7 years are not allowed in the Wellness Centre and 7-11 year olds must be accompanied. We welcome children but do ask that our guests take care so as not to allow sun cream etc on sofas and outside cushions and drink spillages. We always either put a towel down or wear a T Shirt. This way we can keep the apartment looking nice. Whilst we are not smokers ourselves we do ask that smoking be kept to outside the apartment which is where we have the very occasional cigar with a nice whiskey (unfortunately not provided but available locally).

Golf: The apartment is situated in the premier golfing location of Spain. Apart from the world famous Championship course Valderrama which is just across the road, there are also the 3 nine hole course of Almenara and San Rocque, Sotogrande, Alcaidesa and La Canada courses all within 5-15 minutes drive. There have also been some new courses built recently. There is a telephone golf booking service which offers preferential rates run by a Swedish company which is very good.

Swimming pool opening hours:: There are 3 swimming pools in the Valgrande complex. The swimming pools in phases 1 & 2 are open with a life guard as follows: From 15th to 30th June open 12:00 - 19:00; from 1st - 25th July open from 11:00 - 19:00; from 25th July - 31st August open from 10:00 - 20:00; from 1st - 15th September open from 12:00 - 19:00. The Swimming pool phase 3 does not required a life guard and is open from 1st May - 2nd October from 09:00 - 19:00. (It is illegal to use the pools when they are closed as no life guard is on duty)

Indoor Pool and SPA: Unfortunately the current rules of the community at Valgrande stipulate that no children under 7 are allowed in the spa and children between 7 years old and 11 years old must be accompanied by adults.

Golf: VALDERAMA: Opened in 1994 these 18 holes of golf can be found situated between the Mediterranean sea and the mountains. With the large number of lakes and strategic places bunkers every hole is a different experience.Valderrama 7000 yards par 72 with no hole of less than championship quality but it can be fully enjoyed by players of all handicaps thanks to Robert Trent Jones Sr, who designed the course in 1974. Regarded as by many as the number 1 golf course in mainland Europe, and is in the Top 50 World Rankings. Valderrama hosted the first nine editions of the Volvo Masters (1988-1996.) It hosted the Ryder Cup in 1997 and has hosted the first World Golf Championships - American Express Championship in 1999 and the second in 2000. A real home abroad, to come back again and again.

We have stayed several times at this luxurious appartment where we feel really at home. All rooms are very well decorated, and the atmosphere is so pleasant. The spacious terrace is unique, and high quality furnished. The view from the terrace is overlooking the valley below. (morning sunrise is stunning) The kitchen is really big and very complete. The grounds around are one tropical, well maintained garden and just walking around is a real pleasure. The outdoor swimmingpool is excellent and very clean at any time. The new indoor swimming facilities we will get to know on 10-05-2008, our next stay.
Friendly security around, gives you a good feeling. A( rental) car is a must. Many special places around to visit. Gibraltar, Tarifa (tip of Europe) Ronda (a must!!) the port of Sotogrande (many special restaurants), the old city of Marbella (an oases of nice little boutiques and restaurants outdoor) Do not forget the small hill villages around. That is REAL Spain.(you need good physical condition) All in all,a excellent place to stay, far away from the crowded, noisy hotel boulevards. Highly recommended.and worth the prices.

Great holiday

We really enjoyed our weeks holiday at this lovely apartment. It has everything you could wish for and its the only time we have returned home feeling our house was small in comparisson!

The terrace was nice and cool in the evening after the sweltering daytime heat, the perfect place to relax. It was very quiet too even though the majority of apartments were occupied.

Francosie was so helpful and the chilled wine and bread was a real help. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were being repaired - hopefully up and running soon.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: It is rewarding to have been able to offer our second home to Roger for a week's break and am pleased that it was an enjoyable stay. You are welcome back anytime. We particularly chose the apartment for its location so that the afternoons had natural shade so it makes it very nice in the hot afternoons.

A great apartment in a lovely location

We had a great week's holiday at the apartment in Valgrande. It's a very upmarket and high quality development and the apartment is really spacious and well furnished/equipped. It was also quiet too which was perfect for us.

The area is much less developed than the rest of the coast around there and the whole Sotgrande area is lovely - lots of long, deserted beaches to explore nearby and it's a good central base to explore southern Andalucia and the Costa de la Luz. Even possible to do a side trip to Morocco from there!

The owners were very friendly and helpful. We would have no qualms about recommending the apartment or rebooking in future.

The summer holidays your always have wished

When we come and i open the door of this apartment, we were impressed because all its fantastic, nice rooms, a great outside terrace, big kitchen, this house is perfect to spent your time in relax and of course, go to beach,,spa, play golf, swimming pool ...

My kids have enjoyed and the last day before when i am closing the door, they have said me : Dad, we want come back here the next summer!!!, so i only can say: I promise

In summary, a perfect place to enjoy your holidays.

Luxurious and homely in one!

When we arrived at Valgrande a little travel weary after our flight I dashed to the door with the keys to be the first to check out the apartment. It took me a while to do that - it is so spacious. I then dashed back out to the rest of the party unloading the cars and declared 'I booked us a mansion!' We were young family of 4 plus grandparents and the place was perfect for us. It was early in the season so we needed enough space to lounge around indoors in the evenings - so much Spanish accommodation is designed for outdoor living only. This place caters for all seasons - comfy sofas indoors plus a beautifully furnished terrace. The apartment is clearly a home from home. Its location is perfect for touring inland to the white villages or up to coast to Estapona and Marbella. Gibraltar is 20 mins away. My brother lives inland in Jimena and we were only 25 minutes away so we will definitely be using this as our base again.
