Local buses regularly run from Vejer to the beaches and local towns. Buses run from La Barca de Vejer to Malaga, Sevilla, Jerez and other cities.
Hire car recommended but not essential as all amenities within walking distance.

LOCAL AREA:
There are plenty of things to see and do in the surrounding area, explore another pueblo blanco such as Medina Sidonia or Arcos de la Frontera which are also steeped in history. Explore the local markets of San Fernando and Conil or the great range of shops in Cadiz or Jerez. Tarifa is only a 30 min car drive, here you can catch the ferry to Tangiers in Morocco which is only 16km across the water, or catch a boat which will take you whale and dolphin watching, Tarifa is also the wind surfing capital of Europe, there are plenty of schools for beginners or high waves for the more advanced. Jerez is the sherry capital, visit one of the many bodegas and sample the local wine and tapas. Seville is less than 2 hours by car and makes an ideal day trip, make sure you visit the bull ring, cathedral and Alcazar gardens before having lunch on the river.

The nearest ski resort is Sierra Nevada near Granada. The resort can be reached in approximately 3 hours by car.

The closest golf course is only 5km, Monteenmedio Golf and Country Club. Par 72, 18 holes. Impeccable tees and greens. Fantastic views of Vejer. Swimming pool, restaurant and padel courts.
Benalup Fairplay Golf 22km. Environmentally friendly course designed by Baron Paul Rolin. 18 holes with many water obstacles. Views of Africa. Fantastic spa, hotel and restaurants.
Golf Campano 25km. 9 holes with narrow flat fairways, surrounded by pine and olive trees.
Golf Novo Sancti Petri 30km. Beachside 18 hole course with wide fairways and lakes.
Golf Melia Chiclana 30km. Par 72, difficulty - average. Beach side course.
Golf Montecastillo 70km. According to Jack Nicklaus this is the best course he has ever designed. Hosted Volvo Masters for 5 consecutive years. Impressive driving range with 2 fairways, private academy, swing analysis.
