Fabulous Spanish Holiday Home

We went to this property in May 2008, and loved it.
The house was easy to get to, and the owner couldn't have been more helpful.
We took more than we needed, there was an iron, hairdryer, beach towels & bathroom towels, BBQ, and every kitchen utensil & pots and pans you could need.
The shops, grocers, butchers are few but really well stocked, and there's always the big supermarkets if you can find what you need. We found everything we needed!
Excellent Value for money! Although no shops are open on a sunday afternoon.
The drive to Gibralta took about 20mins, through lovely spanish countryside - until you get there! It is an experience in itself, we recommend you go in a taxi mini-bus up the Rock, rather than the cable car. There's a lot of walking if you go via the cable car! And the driver we had was so knowledgeable, full of history and we were all really glad he was driving, (sheer drop!)
Sotogrande is just across the motorway, and has some very exclusive bars, restaurants and some beautiful moor-side apartments. Fab for a posh meal out.
There's pleanty of development going on there presently, but the centre is beautiful. All different coloured houses with shutters, not to mention the yachts!
As far as morocco goes we did go to Algeciras & Tarifa with the intention of getting the 'fast' boat to Tangier in Morocco. However, by the time we arrived the trip we wanted had left, you really need to be in Tarifa at 9am to make this trip worth while, it's about 60 euros per head, takes 35 mins to get there. Then there is the 2 hours time difference & getting through customs.... We decided against it.
If you want Spanish all the way, (a phrase book will come in handy) a friendly village, no high rise, and not many tourists, in this house you will be very happy.
Very friendly butcher in the Supermacado, and the main tapas bar in the village, on the main street is fab!
Thanks very much Sylvia, we had a great time.
I might bring my family to enjoy it!
