Vejer is a white, hilltop town on the beautiful Atlantic coast of Andalucia. It is a magical place to explore with dozens of small tapas bars, narrow streets with patio pots overflowing with flowers. The beaches along this coast are amongst the best in Europe - huge stretches of golden sand that are - weekends aside - virtually deserted. The coast is dotted with small towns with bars and fish restaurants from where you can watch the wind- and kit-surfers. Surfboards and equipment can be rented near Tarifa, where you can also go horse riding. Lunch goes on forever.... this is a part of Spain where mass tourism is unknown, the pace of life is very slow. The stunning mountains of the Alcornacales National Park are nearby as is Europe's best known birdwatching area, Donana National Park. Golf at the Montenmedio Country Club is only 5 km away. Towns such as Medina Sidonia, Cadiz, Tarifa, Sevilla and Gibraltar are well worth visiting and there is a regular ferry service to Tangier in Morocco.
