Eating and drinking:
There are a number of good restaurants and bars within a short walk of our house. There is anything from a traditional tapas bar with old men propping up the bar, to a pretty courtyard garden Moroccan restaurant to a traditional Andalucian restaurant to a couple of charming Italians. We supply a local information sheet with full details when you book, and a visitors book that has all this information on your arrival . If you prefer to cook yourself, the kitchen is fully supplied with everything you will need.
Shopping:
There is a small covered market (great for fruit, veg and fish), a good butcher, baker and general stores within a 3 minute walk of our house. There is also a Supermarket (Supersol) conveniently on the road you come in on to get to our house which his great for all the basics. We love to wander out onto the street in the morning, head to one of the terraces for a coffee and then stroll around the shops, taking it all in.
Beach and activities:
There are several excellent beaches nearby. You have to drive, so it's particularly handy that we have easy, free parking just behind our house to make it that bit easier to pack a pic nic or kids' games.
El Palmar has surfing and a surf school and is also a wonderful family beach, as are Zahora and Canos de Meca, the Calas de Conil are pretty hidden cliff-backed coves, and Bolonia (a half-hour drive) has stunning sand dunes, Roman ruins, and a glut of good, basic fish restaurants.
There is also horse riding just outside the town, walking (head over towards Medina Sidonia and Alcala) and Jerez and Cadiz are within easy reach for a day trip.
