Arcos de la Frontera lies within the province of Cadiz, about half hour from Jerez Airport and one hour from Seville Airport. It is convenient for trips to both Cadiz (possibly Europe's oldest city) and the regional capital of Sevilla. Villa Bodega makes an ideal location to explore the Pueblos Blancos, and delve into the period of conflict between the Moors and Christians. Arcos de la Fronteras itself is a Spanish national-historic monument, in recognition of it's impressive location and exceptional historic architecture. The Fronteras region forms part of the Sierra Morena, which is one of Spain's most important wildlife habitats; among the birds you will see is the Black Vulture, one of the rarest vulture species in the world.
