At the Mijas Hipodromo you can watch and bet on races throughout the day and night at the weekly meetings. It has proved very successful in attracting the attention of the main jockeys and stables from Spain and abroad.
Bullfighting: The traditional time for this celebration of Spanish culture is at seven in the evening, but it occasionally occurs during the night. There are usually six bulls with each performance lasting twenty minutes and the duration of the bullfighting is just over two hours.

The Sierras act as a protective screen against the affects of the colder northern winds and provide a wonderful scenic backdrop to the game.
