Double bedroom apartment in the heart of Marbella 2 mins from beach

a really pleasant and convenient flat with an authentic Spanish vibe. Heather is a very efficient and helpful manager. you couldn't beat the location - a lovely park with a great cafe, a good choice of friendly neighbourhood eateries, and one of Spain's prettiest, greenest promenades - all literally on your doorstep. we enjoyed ambling along that promenade for a few kilometres to a glam marina and catching the ferry back. beyond that, plenty to enjoy in the old quarters in both Marbella and in Malaga. we'll be back!

Myself and my partner rented this apartment for a week at the start of May this year. We were very happy with the apartment and had a wonderful holiday in Marbella.
Before we arrived Eileen very kindly posted us out an information letter on the apartment and the surrounding areas as well as a map. It arrived within days of us confirming the dates. This was very useful and thorough. Eileen recommended places to eat, things to see and things to do. The walk on the promenade at night was certainly a highlight for us! She really made us feel welcome.
The apartment was exactly as described in the ad. The location was ideal, literally three minutes to the promenade and the beach. It was also very well located for visiting the Old Town which was only a ten minute walk away. There is a small supermarket, an atm and a pharmacy only three minutes away. There is a bigger supermarket just up the road also which is very cheap.
The apartment itself was spotless when we arrived. A few basics such as salt, tea bags, toilet paper, etc had been left for our arrival which was very handy. The manager Heather met us at the apartment to give us the keys and show us around. She was very helpful throughout the process.
There is only one double bedroom but in the sitting room there are two pull down single beds. So really it could accomodate four people. I would recommend this apartment in a heartbeat. We would definitely stay here again.

Planning our holiday went very well. The owner was very helpful and friendly. She contacted us quickly and all her advice was great. We were greeted by her manager when we arrived. That's where it ended!!

On arrival there was a very complex smell of pungent drains which was overpowered by airfreshner. It seems that manager having noticed this sprayed air freshner liberally to try and hide it. When I rang her (5 mins after she left us with the keys) to discuss it and ask advice, I was shocked with her response. She did not offer to return to discuss it even thoguh she hadnt even the time to have vaciated te building as we were 7 floors up, but said that she was aware of the smell and had used airfresher. She then said 'you can use bleach if you like...you'll find it under the sink'. That was the end of the help we got. We had to run all the taps, pour bleach into every drain and hope for the best. The smell re occured throughout the week but at least we didn't also have the airfreshner to content with. I explained I wasn't happy and would discuss it the next day as it was late (23.30hrs). We never heard again from her. I emailed the manager who agreed that this had been a problem before and said it was due to it being an old property and using bleach was the only cure!! Therefore if you go here bring your marigolds and a nose clip...I'm not kidding.

The reason why you dont get a view from the balcony to the outside world on the photos is because there isn't one. All you see is concrete jungle with a tiny wedge of the sea in the distance between 2 high rises.

I left 3 days early as a friend who had agreed to join me couldnt and I couldn't bear to be there for longer than necessary. I asked for a refund but this was not agreed so there was no understanding or sympathy with our situation!
