Jardines de las Golondrinas is situated directly on the best beach in Marbella and is a superb choice for a family holiday, a quiet getaway or as a base for a golf break. Our 1st floor apartment is airy, bright and spacious, with a large south facing terrace off the living area and a west facing balcony off the dining area. It has a fully fitted kitchen and both hot & cold air conditioning. The complex has 130 acres of sub-tropical gardens which feature waterfalls, fish and turtle filled lily ponds & streams as well as a large outdoor pool with swim up bar, childrens pool, heated jacuzzi and poolside restaurant serving excellent food throughout the day. There are three commercial centres within walking distance, with a wide range of outlets - restaurants, bars/cafes, supermarkets, furniture, souvenir, electrical stores, pharmacies, beauty/hair salons, estate agents, banks, ATMs etc. The complex has reception facilities, private parking, 24h security and secure perimeter fencing.

Jardines de las Golondrinas is located directly on the beach in Elviria, Marbella. The complex is adjacent to the 5* Don Carlos Hotel and the 5* Alanda Club (formerly The Four Seasons Country Club). The busy port town of Marbella with its lovely old quarter and palm-lined promenade is just 5 mins drive, and the bustling port of Puerto Banus is just 10 mins drive. The marina and beach in Cabopino is minutes away by car. Alternatively you can enjoy the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains and take a trip to the hilltop town of Rhonda. Gibraltar and Seville are also accessible by car. Car hire or day tours can be arranged through Reception or through a local agent in the commercial centre. For shopping 'La Canada', near Marbella is a must, as is the weekly market in Fuengirola and also the hillside town of Mijas. For golfers, the Santa Maria Golf Club is 3 mins drive & there are numerous other golf courses nearby (further info available on request).

  • The above rates are based on 4 person occupancy. A travel cot and highchair are provided free of charge. For an additional child's bed there is a charge of 25Euro per week. The rates listed above include:
    preparation of apartment with bed linen, towels and toiletries, weekly linen/towel change, electricity and water, departure clean and a comprehensive information pack.
    Finally there is a complimentary 'Welcome Pack' which includes a small supply of grocery items - particularly useful if you are travelling with small children or arriving late in the evening.
  • Deposit of 25% is required on booking with the balance payable 6 weeks prior to start date.
    A security deposit of 100 Euro is also required - this will be forwarded to client after keys have been returned and the property has been inspected following departure.
  • Arrival time : After 17:00 on Start Date.
    Departure time : 10:00 on Departure Date.

    The apartment is generally ready earlier than the time listed above, however this can only be confirmed nearer the departure date. Also a later check out can be arranged if availability permits. There are facilities at the pool including toilets and showers for guests use. Luggage can be left at the Reception desk for later collection.

Great family holiday

This was a great experience all round. From the initial enquiry through to the booking was so efficient, and the supporting communications with the help pack ups were really detailed and extremely helpful. The location of the fully equiped and very clean apartment was ideal and a great place to base a holiday from. The kids (and us parents) made full use of the large pool and it was so handy for the beach. With all the shops, restaurants and bars being so handy and within walking distance the hire car we had was totally under utilised.

A most enjoyable holiday with a big thank you to Linda for her help and advice.

Wonderful spot to base a holiday!

We (2 couples) rented this apartment as a base in Elviria for a wedding nearby. Felt suitably spoilt by our accomodation - spacious, clean, tasteful and kitted out with everything we needed like hairdryer, iron, coffee machine etc. Supermarket 2 mins away so supplies always on hand. The complex is a lovely garden and well looked after - as were we by the friendly pool staff.

Taxis available at the top of the road if you need them but several beach bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Couldn't recommend this apartment more.

Jardines de las Golondrinas - Elviria

Suntanned and relaxed South Lanarks

We spent a week here in July 2008, 2 adults and 2 children (5 and 2).

The accommodation was spacious. It did need a bit of tlc (broken door handles, poor lighting in bathrooms) but overall it was a pleasant place to stay. The pool was excellent and there were never any probs with sun loungers. We only managed the first morning at the beach as literally every 5 minutes someone was trying to sell you a bag, sunglasses etc or a massage. I'm not joking it was every 5 mins - a real pain!

We didn't have a car and we didn't mind being restricted to the few restaurants available (a couple of really nice ones on the beach and our favourite, Di Vino as they were so friendly, across across the road). There was one supermarket easily reached. There were other restaurants and shops across a very busy flyover but with 2 young kids we didn't chance it as there wasn't a safe route).

It was very expensive, it cost us approx 50-60 Euros per night for dinner (the kids shared a meal but did have a small ice cream each, we only had a main meal, this also included a drink each for us - except youngest).

The apartment directly above us started partying very late on the second evening but it only lasted 10 mins before someone knocked on their door and told them to quieten down. We didn't hear anything else for the rest of the stay.

All in all we had a very relaxing and enjoyable week in perfect sunshine. I would only recommend it to those hiring a car or those who completely want to get away from the buzz of busy resorts.
Owner's Response: I very much value feedback from all my guests. If there is a problem during their stay I encourage guests to contact me immediately so that I can fix the problem straight away. Guests are provided with a comprehensive information pack which contains my own 24 hour contact details as well as the contact details of the company who maintain the complex and the company who maintain the apartment for me.

As well as the restaurants in Elviria Beachside there are numerous restaurants in the 2 commercial centres on the far side of the N340 road - it's a pity not to be in a position to try them all - Browns is my favourite and there are 3 Chinese restaurants, an Indian restaurant to name but a few. However if guests are concerned about walking across the flyover with small children and I can understand this having done it myself over the last 7 years and my children are now 10 and 7, then there is a taxi rank right outside the complex and the driver would run you across the flyover for a couple of euro. There is a taxi rank on the other side too for the return journey.
