La Maestranza is a new complex situated at the mouth of golf valley and within fifteen minutes walk of the world famous Puerto Banus on the Costa del Sol. The complex consists of 227 individual apartments, 3 garages and 4 locales. The building work was completed in September 2003. The architects desire was to create an atmosphere of a typical quiet Andalucian village with classic rustic white walls, red roofs and quiet footpaths. The facilities include a swimming pool for each of the two phases and a shallow paddling pool. All surrounded by pleasant tiered gardens with ample grassed area for sunbathing and relaxing. There is a supermarket and chemist just outside the complex. Buses stop regularly bringing all the surrounding areas, including the airport, within reach via the main bus station in Marbella. For those holiday makers not wishing to drive, this is ideal.There is a popular market each Saturday in Nueva Andalucia, a five minute walk away.

Notes: The spacious apartments are ideal for families. Children can safely wonder around the complex to the pools, no vehicles can enter the complex so there is no danger from motorists. There is a security person on the gate allowing access to and from the complex. This penthouse receives more sunshine than the lower and ground floor apartments. Smoking is allowed on the outside patios. There is a breakage deposit of £150 fully refundable at the end of the holiday subject to inspection.

Golf: The apartment is situated close to Puerto Banus yet at the heart of golf valley with golf courses all around. This location is very popular beach lovers and golfers aliike and is situated within a 10 minute walk to Aloha and Las Brisas golf course. In addition after 5/10 minute drive you can be at Los Arqueros or La Quinta golf courses. You can also find the motorway 1 km away which will take you to Valderrama and Sotogrande, [20 minutes].

Me my girlfriend, her sister and boyfriend all stayed for a week in June.

The weather was perfect and the apartment was just as perfect.

Even with four of us we found it spacious and comfortable.

I saw the review that commented about the chairs, if I'm honest I think they forgot to put the cushions on them as they were very comfortable and we spent many evening looking over the amazing views from the balcony on them. (cushions in the cupboard for your info)

Pools were great and the big pool even came with a lifeguard.

The shops are on your door step so its also ideal as is the pharmacy next to it.

The biggest issue with us was how expensive the area was, don't be thinking your going to be getting any bargains here! drinks are about 5 euros for a beer to 7 euros for a vodka. You can usually get two for one in most bars with the guys outside trying to get you in but be persistent they will try and fob you off with free shots.

Had a great time and cant wait to go again.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place to family or friends.

We arrived at the penthouse 21/05/09 and found the pemthouse clean and well laid out.
It is situated near to supermarket and places to eat.
We thought that the two small balconys could have had better chairs to sit on but other than that we found the Penthouse very good value for money and would recommend to friends.

THE STEPS HOUSE

Great holiday at the 'steps' house in August. Went as family with 2 chiildren aged 10 and 3. They loved complex and had great fun in the pool. Kevin very helpful, clean tidy apartment, very well equiped. Hired car at the airport for the 10 days so did not need tranfers. Had day trips to Gibraltar, Ronda, mijja water park - town, marbella amongst them. No need for additional taxi fares etc as had car. Driving around area vey easy. Peurto banus not really for children in the evening but they did love looking at all the cars and boats. Go to the 'pirate' ship coctail bar down by the beach, great chairs! really good with children during the day, fetched them enormous plates of fruit to eat and non alcoholic cocktails. Highly recomend the apartment.

Luxury Penthouse Aparment Puerto Banus

We absolutely loved this apartment and it really is a home from home. It is spotlessly clean, spacious, well maintained and has all the amenities you could possibly need. The interior is up to date and modern. The apartment was everything we expected and more. As one of three women staying in the apartment we really appreciated the vast amount of space we had. The two large bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms ensured we weren't tripping over one another to get ready for an evening out. Kevin's customer service was faultless. We were a little apprehensive about booking accommodation this way but Kevin's prompt service soon put us at ease. He answered all of our queries very quickly and provided us with an information pack to make our stay at the penthouse enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable. He also arranged our taxi transfers to and from the airport which was great. The location was ideal and you have the option of walking into puerto banus or taking a taxi which cost us between 6-8 euros. The complex was very quiet and the security guards were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the breathtaking views from the balcony and often spent part of our evening on the balcony before heading down to the port. We didn't find the port too expensive as we were quite selective about which bars and clubs we went into. A lot of bars and clubs offer drinks promotions and this really can save you a bit of money. There is a really nice Italian Restaurant called Pasta Caffe next to the apartment complex which offered great value for money. We spent two of our evenings in Marbella which was great for a change of scene and it is only a short taxi ride away (5/10 minutes). I couldn't fault anything about this apartment. The service and value for money is exceptional. I would certainly recommend this property and I cannot wait to return.
Owner's Response: We tend to visit our apartment about four times a year and we always purchase new items or purchase replacements to keep things looking good.
We had what we feel was a negative response from our guests in July regarding the bedroom furnishings, we have since replaced those items with more modern ones and we have had more positive reviews since.
We appreciate our guests taking the time to give their opinions of the apartment, it helps us to maintain a high standard which we want to present to them.
Its important to us that every guest we have is impressed with our apartment and service.

2 bed/bath Penthouse

Penthouse was quiet with no noise from other apartments. There was plenty of room and privacy for two couples - the main balcony/terrace is big enough to enjoy sitting out for breakfast and evening drinks etc. Bathrooms looked new and kitchen was well kitted out - everything you could possibly need. The apartment was clean and tidy. The only negatives were - the style of the soft furnishings in the bedrooms, which is personal taste really, but in my opinion the curtains and bedspreads need updating (the rest of the apartment is modern which makes the bedrooms seem slightly old fashioned) - also the shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom is a bit tricky. However, we had clean, crisp sheets and the whitest of towels. Overall, size, layout, all day sunshine, Kevin's customer service, I would recommend this penthouse. Kevin provided lots of information before we went which was useful. Kevin arranged our transfers and was available by text if we needed him during our holiday.
At the Centre (at the bullring) there is a Thai Kitchen which is fabulous, very authentic.
It is a good 15/20 minute walk to the port/beach and uphill on the way back so not for the faint hearted - taxi is 7 euros. The port is very superficial and overpriced. Try the little village Lacampagne (excuse the spelling) for a more Spanish experience. Or try Taj Mahal in this area, follow the signs, for excellent indian food. Pasta Caffe, downstairs, is lovely Italian food.
We had a fabulous holiday.
