Locality:
Puerto Banus is part of Marbella, before you reach the small town of San Pedro de Alcantara.
This is the place to be pampered yachtside and ogle those fabulous luxury yachts while sipping a drink at one of the many open air restaurants and bars. The setting is close to ideal, with its impressive mountain backdrop and ocean views.
Since its inception some forty years ago, the port has steadily grown and now features a casino, commercial shopping centre, a Corte Ingles department store, marine observatory and a multi cinema with films shown with their original soundtrack.
Nightlife buzzes at Puerto Banus with your choice of alfresco bars, piano clubs and discos while during the day this is a window shopper´s dream with several of the world renowned fashions houses featured here, in addition to small, interesting shops and boutiques.
Weather:
Located between the Sierra Blanca mountains and the Mediterranean, Marbella enjoys it's own mild micro-climate. The temperatures below are average daily shade temperatures. It's shorts and 'T' shirts for the vast majority of the year, and a light jersey is generally adequate during winter months!
Along the coast and you can see the Rock of Gibraltar. Look to the left of the Rock (out to sea) and you can see the Altas mountains of North Africa. Given the closeness of Marbella to the deserts of Africa, it is no surprise that the sun shines for approx. 320 days per year and that the residents value every day when rain falls.

Costa del Sol Excursions -
Many visitors to the Costa del Sol travel little further than the nearest beach yet there are some outstanding day excursions available by luxury motor coach. There are fixed pick up points for passengers in Malaga, Torremolinos, Benalmadena, and Fuengirola. Other stops are available on request. The most popular full day excursions are to Granada, Ronda, Seville, Cordoba, Gibraltar and even to Tangiers in Morocco.
Market -
Every Saturday morning at Puerto Banus by the bullring is a very popular street market where you can pick up all sorts of bargains. The apartment is a couple of hundred metres from the bullring.
Golf:
The Costa del Sol is often referred to as the Costa del Golf, its not surprising with a concentrations of top quality golf courses nearing the 40's and fabulous weather almost all year round, it's an idyllic setting. Popular with European golfers for many years the area has become better known farther afield due to the 1997 Ryder Cup held at Valdarama. The demand is so great that many new courses are being developed and in the more popular courses rounds need to be booked months in advance.
