Most relaxing holiday ever
Review Submitted: August 3, 2009
Date of Stay: July 2009
Having stayed at apt. 304 in July 2009 we can certainly recommend it, it´s even nicer than in the pictures. It was our first time in Spain, first time in a holiday rental and it was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had! No getting up in time for breakfast, no having to leave the apartment because of the cleaner turning up.
Booking was easy, the owners are very helpful and even booked a taxi from and to Malaga airport for us.
Apartment 304 is very cosy, plenty of space for 3 or 4 people, two bedrooms with great sea views, two lovely bathrooms, kitchen with everything you need, combined living/diningroom (good selection of books, music and games!) but, of course, it´s the big balcony that is the winner. You have a breathtaking view of Burriana beach, the coast and Capistrano Playa.
Capistrano Playa is built like an Andalusian village and is unique. It is very well kept, the tropical garden and lake are fantastic. Having said that, there are many, many stairs all over the complex – 198 steps from the apartment down to the beach, so if you have trouble walking we wouldn´t recommend it. On the bright side, it´s the first time we have lost weight and got fitter during a holiday. If you are reasonably fit the stairs are no problem – we weren´t!!!
This shouldn´t put you off renting one of the apartments at Capistrano Playa: it really is lovely and quiet. There are two pools and a paddling pool up by the bar/snack bar. Most of the time they weren´t crowded despite this being peak season. Our 9-year old daughter had a super time both at the pool and at the beach. Burriana beach is great, extremely well kept with life guards and masses of good restaurants and little shops.
Nerja is lovely with the Balcon de Europa and the old town which is closed off to traffic in the evening. It´s quiet too, no loud music from bars or discos, but lots of good restaurants and shops (especially shoes and handbags – wow) and it has a fantastic relaxed atmosphere. From what we gathered, it is one of the few coastal towns/resorts that has kept its Andalusian flavour.
You needn´t rent a car, the town is 20 min. walk along the beach. A taxi into town is 6 or 7 Euros. Shopping: There is a supermarket (Whim) down by Burriana beach but it is very expensive. We ended up combining trips into town with shopping at Supersol and getting a taxi back.
Thank you very much for letting us stay at your great apartment, we´d love to return!
