Location Location Location 1 bedroom apartment with pool in the heart of Nerja

What a fantastic find! From the moment we arrived, we felt we'd found a home-from-home. Comfortable, clean and well appointed, this Rocamar apartment, overlooking Carabeo beach, was the perfect location to explore the lovely town of Nerja. The flat itself boasts a great kitchen (with washing machine - bonus!); the sittingroom is lovely and sunny in the afternoon and evening, with a very comfy settee/sofabed (we pulled out the seats that extra wee bit for really salubrious chilling while watching the flat-screen tv). The bed is extremely comfy and the room's accent colours and design give it a lovely feel - we loved the tree-like shadows from the bedside lanterns each night - very romantic. So nice to have a bath, too! Both the bedroom and the sittingroom have lovely big french windows out onto the balcony, where we enjoyed many a pre-dinner sundowner watching the sunset.

Surrounding area is great - so many places to discover in walking distance - particular recommendations are the wee Moorish-style bar, "Jardin Al Andalus" just along Carabeo - fabulous cocktails in very atmospheric surroundings; "Little Italy", further along the pedestrianised street offers the best pizzas you may ever have at crazy low prices (4 Euros) and very tasty sangria (5 Euros for a litre) we ate there three times in a week it was so good! Meander further along to the Balcon De Europa and take in the views while enjoying postres (desserts) on one of the terraced cafes, "Anahi" is good for typically Spanish cakes and opposite is a great heladeria for your cooling ice creams.

We found this apartment ideally placed for the best beaches Nerja offers - Burriana's blue flag beach, right on the doorstep and cute little Carabeo just down the steps beside the building. We didn't get a chance to try out the swimming pool, but the garden was a real suntrap and looked lovely - next time!

We also found that, though there is currently no internet access (Julie and the team are on the case!), the eaterie "Miralmar", across the street has free wifi, which carried across the road to the end of the terrace and into the bedroom - so you can save on your roaming changes if you need quick access via smartfone...

Julie has been incredibly helpful and made the whole holiday a pleasure from booking to return home - we'd have no hesitation in recommending to friends and family. A massive thanks to her and the team for a fantastic, relaxing holiday in their superb apartment - we'll be back!

What a great apartment in the perfect location. The balcony faces west so gets the afternoon sun which is particularly nice in winter. It is 5 mins walk to the town centre and 10 mins to Burriana Beach. The apartment was exactly as listed, clean and well maintained. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone.

This was our sixth visit to Nerja, starting in 1997, but our first stay at the Rocamar Apartment.
The original booking of the Apartment with Julie and the additional taxi and towel bookings with Lisa was handled very efficiently.
Our flights and taxi pick-up were on time and the Apartment was ready for us, even though we arrived at lunch time.
Our first impression was of a clean and spacious property with both a front and side balcony, giving partial views of both the mountains and the sea.
There are 2 sun umbrellas, 2 chairs and now 2 new beach mats in the cupboard, which were useful for the pool area, which we used on a couple of afternoons after trips.
We didn't use the kitchen facilities, apart from the odd boiled egg, as there are so many snack bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, but there looked to be plenty of saucepans, crockery etc.
There are several beaches within easy walking distance, our favourite being the Salon ( below the Cochran Irish bar), particularly now that they have beds and umbrellas on the beach.
The cost for beds on all of the beaches was 8 euros for two.
We visited Fragiliana on the bus whch worked fine and cost 2 euros each return.
Our visit to Granada on the bus was less successful. We caught the 09.45am from Nerja bus station, which arrived late into Granada at 12.15pm. We then got a taxi from the bus station into the town ( 10 euros), which took a further 30 minutes due to traffic. We went straight to the Cathedral which we found shut at 13.15 until 16.00, so no time for entry. Best to hire a car and park at the Alhambra and catch a shuttle bus into the city centre.
The best restaurants? There are so many and we did not have a bad meal in the 14 days. European, Chinese, Indian, Thai, French, Mexican, Northe African, they are all there.

Anyway, a really great holiday in a lovely apartment, with just the right weather. We will be back!
